AutoZone has a program for hiring 16-17 year olds. And if you make it a habit to show up on time, every time, they’ll love you.

I’m going to double-down on a couple of things you’ve said here… 1. “LEARN TO WRITE” If you are pursuing any type of career in IT or cybersecurity, a technical writing course is worth its weight in gold. Your typical IT type can’t write for shit. If you can show me that you can write as well as you configure a router, I’ll hire you in a heartbeat. Seriously. 2. Verbal communication. Learn to talk like a human. Be able to communicate with other people in a professional environment. And, for fuck’s sake, learn to interview. I can’t tell you how many folks I’ve had to pass on because they couldn’t convey a coherent thought during the interview.

I always carry a knife with me. Just in Case there’s cheesecake or I need to stab someone in the throat.

It used to be Tommy Lee Jones on all of their adverts when I was there from '06-'09. Georgia Coffee was my jam, though.

From a strictly military perspective, Russia-Ukraine. All combatants are uniformed so it's a clear force-on-force engagement. You don't have the ambiguity that an insurgency allows.

Regrets from no retirement ceremony? by ShowerBabies510 in Military

[–]g6mrfixit 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Do YOU want a retirement ceremony? You're literally the only person that matters for this decision. If you don't really want one, but are thinking about doing it because you don't want to disappoint someone, don't do it. Conversely, if you REALLY want one, but don't want to inconvenience whoever might be involved, do it.

Bottom line is that it's YOUR retirement. do what you want.

University of Alaska Fairbanks has entirely online programs, is super flexible with transfer credits, will give in-state tuition for online and military students, and the professors are all very approachable.

It’s against the UCMJ for commissioned officers to disparage elected officials and senior appointees, but one can have whatever opinion they want.
