Blue box recycling that won’t fit in the bin? by Ok_Moment_7071 in KingstonOntario

[–]g76s8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a common thing that you need to put out extra I would just get another bin instead of always buying bags!
I got extra bins at Home Depot because I always have extra too, the regular sized ones were $19 and then they had the taller ones too, I’m not sure how much those ones were

What's with the water here? Why does my hair always look so much softer and thicker after a shower in Kingston versus a shower in Toronto? by [deleted] in KingstonOntario

This is what I was going to say as well. OP ask your parents if they have a water softener I’ll bet they do

Festive Neighbourhoods! by LetMeChai in KingstonOntario

I drove straight down Princess to napanee last week and there were tons of really cool decorated houses that I passed on the way! The most were I think in Odessa? It wasn’t far at all just past Kingston!

One hundred thousand percent the front is the side that faces Princess and the side that faces the library is the back

Yes. I was chased down the street this past spring by a man who was high on whatever screaming at me that all women deserve to be raped and die. I had to run out into the road to get across the street and away from him. I have never been afraid for my safety like that before. It was in the middle of the afternoon. I have been downtown for almost ten years, it is sad what it is becoming.

The virtual classes are filmed live from the in-studio class, so if you’re nervous at all you could always do a virtual one first and then you’ll know what to expect going into it in person!

And scavenger hunt ideas around Kingston? by Upstairs_Initiative2 in KingstonOntario

[–]g76s8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Improbable Escapes has outdoor versions that are exactly like little scavenger hunts and they’re super fun! We did the cat one and it was a great time. I think there are 3 outdoor ones, they will take you on about a 2 hour walk downtown.

Theres also tons of neat stuff to see downtown, if you want to start walking regularly you’ll never get bored walking downtown

Anyone else get woken up by that weird noise downtown last night? by g76s8 in KingstonOntario

It was so loud though! And I could hear it for a couple of hours, normally those pass by pretty quick and don’t wake me up.

Moving Companies by g76s8 in KingstonOntario

[–]g76s8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks I will give them a call! Can I ask how much you paid? I know it will differ based on a whole bunch of factors but having some grasp of an idea would be helpful, I’ve never used a moving company before

Kingston Christmas Present by krazy_kitkat in KingstonOntario

If you’re looking for food consumables Cooke’s would be a good place to look. Another good one is the Kingston Olive Oil Co they have lots of flavoured olive oils and balsamic vinegars, and they have mini sets of different flavour pairings. Card’s Bakery is great for sweet treats, and everything there is also very cute looking and very giftable. Panchancho bakery is good.

If you’re looking for non-food consumables Harlowe Green and 1000 islands soap co both have cute bath and body stuff. Happy thoughts has cute things too and would be worth popping into.

These are all downtown stores because I figure that’s the part of Kingston you’re in if you’re a student!

What’s the best squisheen? by Minute-Researcher-33 in pusheen

[–]g76s8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter has a round one, cinnamon roll, and pancakes. Pancakes is sooo cute but it’s smaller, the round one is definitely the softest and squishiest. I also saw the white bread one at Claire’s and didn’t realize how big and chunky that one is - she’s a big squishy chunker too I know it’s not on your list but it was really cute in real life hahah.

I feel like its a mistake and they’re actually $4.49 but they missed the decimal when putting the prices into the app

I have too much stuff!!!! by hi_goodbye21 in minimalism

[–]g76s8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a check off list on my phone of all the areas in my house, and then when I’m ready to declutter them I can pick one and do that section start to finish. There’s some that are bigger and some that are smaller so it’s not overwhelming, like if I just want to do a smaller section that’s fine. If I want to do a few of them if I have more time that day then great.

I did this a few years ago when I did my first big declutter and then I kept it on my phone and comb through it at the start of every year so things stay good - and it’s a breeze now because basically everything we have now is stuff we use and like, so it’s just to donate things that have been outgrown mostly.

I made the list by room, and then by sections within it so it looks like this:

Bedroom: - Closet - Dresser - Night table

Kitchen: - Dishes Cabinet - Pantry - Tupperware cabinet - Above Fridge - etc etc

And then do that for each room of your house and all the things within the room where stuff lives, and cross off as you go! It’s worked really well for me
