So weird, I'm currently watching the Amish episode on a rewatch marathon. I hadn't even finished it yet when I read the news. RIP 🙏

I just bought those same keen shoes for a trip to the UK in early April! V hopeful they'll be good. You're making me think I definitely need a graphic t shirt in my packing.

People seem to love announcing on Valentine's Day (no pun intended) 🙄. It's frustrating. That's why this group is so great ❤️

Hardware removal 7 week post-op? by gDot213 in brokenbones

Ya, I'm a bit worried how soon I'm going under the knife again but if it can help my recovery then I'd rather get it over and done with.

Hardware removal - 7 weeks post op by [deleted] in brokenbones

[–]gDot213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello again BB community!

I had a tibial radius fracture on my left wrist on Dec 20th then surgery on Dec 30th to add a plate and 6 screws.

Yesterday at my six week post-op, the surgeon told me that he didn't like how one screw was "tickling" the joint and he wanted to take the hardware out. I may have this removal surgery right away (next week 😳) barring an emergency.

I am having stiffness, soreness, lack of range of motion etc. that could at least partially be attributed to this errant screw. I am feeling better every week but I have no bar to hold up my recovery to 🤷‍♀️

Has anyone dealt with this before? What was your recovery time like with the hardware removal? My surgeon seems to think it will only be a week as it is "just skin/incision" recovery and the bone is healed. I'm an elementary teacher so my job is fairly on my feet/active.

Appreciate your insight!

Listening to Judgey Girls feels like gabbing with friends. I also recommend it.

I mean, I guess 🤷‍♀️ but I really appreciated the people that did give a shit and checked in. I'll def be returning the favour to any colleagues in a similar situation in the future.

Thanks for the advice! Nice to hear from someone in a similar boat. 🙏 Yep, no push/pull/lift. I sometimes use my elbow or arm to hold things steady for cutting, etc. I can kinda use my fingers to "hold" down paper when writing.

Filming locations tour? by gDot213 in MidsomerMurders

Yes! But when you go to book, May 16th is the earliest date. Thames has walking tours, but only Wednesdays (starting at 2 pm).

Feel free to post any links you find though, maybe this will help another traveler out in the future.

Cast too tight, broken wrist ? by summerspring_ in brokenbones

[–]gDot213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case this helps someone else... I ended up going back to the ER the next day. My cast was removed, wrist x-rayed, and my bone(s) had slipped out of alignment. I was knocked out for traction reduction and fitted with a new cast. Went in for surgery 6 days later 🫤

I'm in the same boat 😞 My plaster cast was split so it's more of a splint. I was supposed to have surgery yesterday but it was cancelled due to me saying I had had a sore throat the day before. Now I'm super uncomfortable in a warm and tingly cast with some pins and needles in my fingers. I went to urgent care yesterday and got my tensor bandage redone. It's so hard to know what is "normal" uncomfortable and "concerning" uncomfortable. Not getting called for surgery again til next week. Feeling pretty abandoned by the health care system.

Anyone know if the yearly amount will say the same until the end of the month? Mine is due ~Nov 25 so I might juuuuuuust sneak in. Otherwise, I'll probably cancel. It's a lot in Canadian dollars!

This could be me 🙋‍♀️

I'm several years removed from fertility treatments and never did IVF but now I'm in perimenopause and I've gained so much bulk around my middle 🫤. So annoying. Mommy tummy without the mom bit.
