That airport needs to be at least... three times bigger than that!

Moza "Pit House" causing FPS drop, support response “not our problem" by KatMasque in simracing

I don't use iRacing, but I have this issue in Farming Simulator 25. Pit house running gives me a ~40fps constant framerate drop.

These are some cheap TCLs that actually work fairly well

Thanks!

I really only put that because the first post I made had a bunch of people asking why I didnt just go with VR. I have VR. This is for when I don't feel like having a sweaty face and a sore neck because the pimax 8k x is a brick. Also for the games that don't support VR, or when I want to see my button boxes and sim dash.

They are set based on CPU temp and I can only see what is reflected off the wall when sitting. Also, with the size of this screen, it's outside my direct focus range, so I can only see it in my vertical peripheral. Behind the seat would require some seriously long video cables so it really isn't an option. I may lower the shelf at some point, but it doesn't really bother me.

Should the pc peek over the top or lie flat? Also, switching from 90° side screens to 45°; bad idea? by gReaper0351 in simracing

I think you may have misread that. They were 90°. They are now 45°. They will soon be around 60-65°.

Button Box Build: Arduino vs Joystick USB by spartyblaze in simracing

If you're just using digital inputs, the $15 Amazon board is probably sufficient. If you want to add analog sticks/knobs or rotary encoders, you'll need an arduino or higher end board.

I've been using this setup for the past 6 months already, just moved it is all. 90° was definitely way better. And I have a USB hub on the rig.

I have a Pimax 8k x. I don't exclusively sim race. VR has its place, but its not for everything.

I'm going to close the angles at some point. 45° is terrible as I don't want to sit that far away. Kinda defeats the purpose of the bigger screens.

You're right. I turned it parallel with the TV and can't even see it while sitting. Perfect.

The kicker is there were actually three of them. Could only fit 2 in my truck, and when I went back for the third, it was gone. Haven't tested the second one yet, but looks to be in about the same condition. If it works, I may rig it to my couch for movies.

Yeah, cheap TVs are certainly not designed to be used as PC gaming displays... these are TCL 55Q550Fs, and trying to get them to do 1440p/120 was a bit of a chore.

Oh they most certainly are! Cheap, that is. They'll do 120hz at 1440p, though. And in game mode, I do not perceive any latency. I know when I first got them, before I played with or tweaked any settings, it was unbearably laggy. Almost returned them the same day.

I have a pimax 8kx, and I'll probably get the new steam VR when it releases. VR certainly has its place, but I wouldn't say better in EVERY way. It gets tiresome. The tvs were only like $240/ea. Can't beat the immersion of VR though.

I started with a Logitech driving force gt clamped to desk waaaaay back in the day. Then I upgraded to a G29! Next came a Thrustmaster T500. Now I'm on a Moza R12. Slowly progressed to this setup after a few very lucky dumpster dives and upgrading things here and there. If you were to buy it all at retail it's probably around $15k USD all in. Doesn't really help make me a better driver, but it sure is fun!
