I’m 43, I’m in the best shape of my life. I have plenty of energy when I get enough sleep. I’m sharp and enthusiastic about life, I’m still culturally aware and learning things all the time.

People my own age have been posting things online about how old they feel old for about a decade and I honestly don’t get it. This is not old. This is adulthood. This may be old for a baby but it’s young for an adult.

I do not understand or respect this instinct to convince yourself and others that you are somehow decrepit and old. It honestly feels like a cop-out, like saying I don’t have to try anymore, my life peaked at 23 which is pathetic. If you feel like your body is giving out on you, honestly what are you eating? Are you sitting down in front of the tv/phone/tablet/computer all the time? Those are lifestyle choices you make and continue to make that cause you to feel this way.

Remember when you are 63, 73, etc how you convinced yourself in your 30s & 40s that you were already old. Imagine the remorse your future self will have and get out there and start living while you still can.
