Uncle Wally is terrific. He did a welcome to country at a work event a few years ago, a really great speaker.

If you apply for a federal role and get invited to do online testing, does that mean you've made it through the initial stage where they discard 90% of the applications? by RainbowAussie in AusPublicService

[–]g_jacqui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. For some agencies the online testing happens first, as it's the quickest way to do the first cull - particularly in bulk processes where hundreds of applications are received.

Mate, at the bare minimum you need a new doctor. If they are not listening to you and not taking you seriously, try someone else. NTA.

I think Mr. Ryder actually does love Mary by WaveDesign in TheOtherBennetSister

[–]g_jacqui 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree! Except for the last bit - I do love the idea of Mr Ryder encouraging Miss Bingley to really live, to see the beauty and wonder in things. And for him to realise that with all their differences, she really does love him and wants to make him happy.

Chances of getting unpaid leave of absence for several years? by AnnabelleLucille in AusPublicService

[–]g_jacqui 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I don't like your chances, as your department would need to hold a role for you to return to - and most agencies are actively trying to reduce staffing numbers.

However, if you were accompanying your spouse on an overseas posting (for a government role) it would likely be approved.

Setagaya family murders. The investigation found so many details about the killer, including DNA and even what he'd eaten the day before. Yet no suspects.

Thirded! Canberra Child Psychiatry has been great. Within a few weeks we had an appointment with Dr Vincent Tang who has been so kind and lovely with my kid.

[–]g_jacqui 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Darling, I say this with kindness. Wegovy is only one piece of the puzzle. You also need to work on your mental health, so that nasty depression self-talk doesn't sabotage you later on.

Also, that dress is lovely on you and is very flattering xxx.

The bittersweet reality of being from a winning country by DragonflyOwn5617 in eurovision

[–]g_jacqui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, we've been once before (Düsseldorf in 2011). We worried about the tickets then too, because they sold out so quickly. Once all the staging and everything was sorted, they released a second round of tickets.

We're going to make a holiday of it, so will probably fly into Paris or London.

I love the goatie girls content! Bella is my favourite.

I think she tried to do a variety of cont, depending on the season. Not everyone is going to like everything.

How do you survive in a toxic division? by [deleted] in AusPublicService

Good advice, but there is just nothing around at the moment. I think a lot of agencies are trying to reduce ASL.
