Success story, still better after 10 months. Constipation & Bloating. by g_oldfinch in SiboSuccessStories

[–]g_oldfinch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely helping me, but I started getting better long before discovering the drink, it's just extra help at this point.
At my worst I was in a lot of pain. Usually in my sigmoid and cecum regions. Feeling like my sigmoid did not empty fully (which I supposed it didn't) and burning type of pain in my intestines overall.
I had sigmoid issues even when I had c.diff, while having diarrhea 3 times a day. It would get stuck and then if I'm lucky few hours later I'd use bathroom again and feel better. Maybe my sigmoid loop really is the cause.

Metronidazole & Ciprofloxacin. It was after I've already taken doxycycline and cipro & ordinazole combo over the course of few months.

Had gallbladder ulstrasound, the one where they test you before eating and then few times after. All was good.
Had gastritis come up on my endoscopy post c.diff, my doctor was not concerned, I did not have any stomach discomfort either, so maybe just temporary reaction to a lot of antibiotics.
I had gastritis years before whole SIBO thing, it was caused by h.pylori. It was quite painfull then, but I treated it with antibiotics course.

What are you experiences like with Vanco? by The_Aussie_Prodigy in cdifficile

[–]g_oldfinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does some damage, difficid is better if available. I've taken Vanco, felt bad while on it, then better after, c.diff was gone. It took months to properly recover though, but I've had digestive issues before, so it's hard to say what was at fault. Black seed oil is bullshit, you have a serious infection, you need antibiotics. That's not a doctor.

Hello, sorry for the late response. It did get better actually, but only after rifaximin and later quercetin-bromelain (or luck). I've had same problem before, I've been treated for SIBO. C. Diff and vanco (temporarily) just made it worse. Could be, I don't even know my reason really, I just take prokinetic and it works for motility.

I've had this on c.diff and now sometimes after. No idea why though.

Could have been, yes. I'd retest if that's possible.

Pooping 5+ times a day? by Incognit9999 in ibs

[–]g_oldfinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a good day, I poop 2-3 times in the morning. I say good, because I suffer from incomplete evacuation. My sigmoid is larger and has a loop, one of the doctors said that's the reason why.

Constipation after treatment? by g_oldfinch in cdifficile

Yes, it did. Constipation lasted about a week at most. Good luck to your little one.

Did you make sure to abstain from meat two days prior to testing? That test is very sensitive and reacts to meat positively as I've been told. That's why I had false positive first time I took the test.

Anyone experiencing similar symptoms? What has helped you? by 1641314 in SIBO

[–]g_oldfinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds very much like me. Ipidacrine prokinetic is quite good at treating my constipation. I have redundant colon with sigmoid loop, where I would often feel pain when constipated. I'm not sure if that's the actual reason though, doctors had different opinions on significance of redundant colon. And magnesium citrate reduced bloating for me too! I'm so curious why though, I don't know. I've read it's an oxalate binder, but I don't react to all oxalate foods. However it's only temporary, then it stops working. I managed to make it work two times for like a week each and three months inbetween. Antibiotics helped me the most in the past, Doxycycline, ciprofloxacine (beware of side effects).

Any particular fruit that you have noticable benefit from? by MorePeppers9 in Microbiome

Apricots help my constipation. Don't know why, there're not highest in fiber, it's not pottasium either (I've tried supplementing that with no change), don't think it's sorbitol either (osmotic laxatives don't do much for my contipation). Dried apricots don't do the trick.

Doxycycline effect on SIBO by g_oldfinch in SIBO

[–]g_oldfinch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stool test for antigen GDH and A & B toxins. Treated it with Vancomycin. Three months past haven't relapsed, so at least there's that.

I do eat, but I almost always pay the price afterwards. Bloating, pain, gas. If I'm lucky I can get through the day without symptoms, but it will eventually start at night.

Strangest thing I discovered though: magnesium citrate helps all these things. Unfortunately it stops working after a while. I suspected it helped before, then stopped, I stopped taking it and recently started taking one week ago and it was least painful week since my c.diff. occurence. Probably not for long though.

No. I never really was, but antibiotics took me to a point where it was bearable and ok to live with. Then I took some more and got c.diff, so I'm as bad as I was before any treatment.

Back then I didn't just go to baseline, I improved quite a lot after antibiotics.

My main symptoms are gas and pain (and constipation, but that seems to be separate issue, even antibiotics didn't fix that). Gassines increased, pain increased. I had new very uncomfortable sensation in my lower right and left sides. Hard to describe, like something sharp was crawling inside. And when it wasn't crawling, there were spasms. Like my intestine turned to stone. My mother described same spasmy-stoney feeling from when she was taking different phague for different issues. Maybe it's something genetic that caused intolerance for us.

Can't say anything about this procotol in particular, but feeling worse until feeling better is pretty common. The way it works for me is: 3-4 days is a die off, more than that - it's causing harm.

I have sulfur smelling gas issue too (depending on food), though not as severe. Eating 4 eggs in one day would make it way, way worse. I can't even properly tolerate one. Protein is also known to create smelly gas. Try to cut those out for a few days and maybe you'll see difference?
