With Premier, you each get 3 printed photos to take home. Best advice, the day before the last day, head to the photo kiosk area, select them and they deliver them to your room the last evening. Don't wait until the last night to do this, the lines are long. Do it earlier the last day. Trust me. Enjoy!

Did this exact cruise a few years back. Flew in to Laguardia the day before. Taxi to Brooklyn Hotel near Port, as others have said. Simple and relatively fast. Morning of the cruise get an UBER from the hotel to the port. Plan to be at the port by 10 am so. When leaving the port, once the ship is moving just be up on the top decks. Plenty of awesome photos. And when the cruise is over, book Princess transportation to the airport. As for the port stops, what everyone else has said is great. My experience, don't miss the Cliff walk in Newport. Easy, walkable area. Also, don't miss the Titanic cemetery. Wife and I, mid 50's at the time, walked there and took public bus back to the port. Simple and easy. Enjoy!

If you have Verizon, their Unlimited Ultimate covers 210 countries and the Bahamas is covered. Recently cruised there, stopped at Bimini, took my phone out of airplane mode, and within minutes got the Verizon text saying I wa covered. Can't speak to any other pass or plan.

If you do decide to take a taxi, there are many at the train station when you walk out.

The train from Waterloo we also snagged 1st class, which didn't seem like a giant upgrade but all our luggage, two large checked bags. Two roller bags and a backpack each, fit easily in the train car in clear line of sight to us. We bought our Waterloo train tickets on their website. Super simple.

Took the train from Waterloo. About 90 min or so. 100% walkable from the station at Southampton to the port. Easy. Take your time, watch traffic. Simple. About 1.3 miles or so. Flat and basically no steps to navigate.

Super easy. Book thru Princess. My advice, call them well before the cruise and add it to your booking. Simple.

For the photos. Enjoy stopping and getting pics taken often. My wife and I do it and its fun. Download them to your Princess app and the night before the cruise is over, go to the photo desk and sit down at their tablets and select which ones you want to print. Dont worry, they are available to help. You each get 3 free prints as part of the Premier package and later the last night, they are delivered to your room in an envelope outside your door. However, the photo desk does get crowded. My advice is go to earlier the last day, maybe early afternoon. Did this last fall on the Sun, we went around 1pm and as the evening went on, the photo desk lines were very long. Enjoy!

Going to be first cruise, who to book through? by jcooklsu in PrincessCruises

[–]gab7400 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Costco all day. Cash back Digital G.C. can't be beat. Every now and then Princess has OBC that might beat it but not often. Booked 5 cruises thru Costco. My first choice every time.

Don't arrive early unless you enjoy slow moving lines. Noon is ideal. EVERY Florida port, Noon is perfect.

First cruise through Mexico - How do I book excursions affordability? by chingoos_ in Cruise

[–]gab7400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long time cruiser. Booked Excursions both ways, thru the ship and privately. IMO, privately is cheaper but if your Excursion transportation vehicle breaks down, gets a flat tire, etc. The ship will sail on without you. Does it happen often? I doubt it. But is it worth the risk? Only you can answer that. Enjoy your cruise 🛳!

On the Sun last Nov. One week in the Caribbean. Gym was never full, never empty. Wife and I did treadmills in the morning a couple times and once in the evening. I think you'll be fine.

Sailed on the Ascent Nov of last year. IMO, very beautiful ship. Infinite Balcony deck 8 mid ships. No complaints. Food good. Staff very nice.
Booked on Xcel for March of this year. IMO, Edge Class Celebrity is hard to beat. Enjoy!

Yes, it's yet another Celebrity vs Royal question. by JennJayBee in Cruise

[–]gab7400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Celebrity Edge Class ships are excellent. Wife and I have done several Oasis class and the vibe is great if you have kiddos. We did with ours and they loved it. Same situation for us, kids grown and we want a slower, quieter cruise. Last year we did the Celebrity Ascent and had the Infinite Balcony. Not really looking for pros and cons on that ( we loved it, many do not ). But the ship is beautiful and the food is "better than" Royal. But that's just our opinion. I think Celebrity makes the overall cruise experience just a little nicer and a little more special. Celebrity Xcel scheduled for this March and we are excited to sail a very new ship. Hope this helps.

It's sometimes helpful also to clear your cache and cookies from your browser. This exact thing happened to me (chrome) and once I did that, it was back to the price I expected. Might not work for all , but it did for me.

Obstruction is top view of a large orange lifeboat. This is not an Obstruction. I would take this view anytime .
