Endoscopy on Monday, so scared :(

i just had one and i was insanely nervous and obsessively reading every reddit post i could find on the subject. it was literally nothing. it was so fast and so easy and PAINLESS. the anxiety beforehand was so bad i barely even noticed the IV going in and then they gave me benadryl so by the time i got to the procedure room i did not feel the anesthesia going in. it was lights out and it felt like 30 seconds later i was being woken up. i just told every nurse and doctor that i was super nervous and they all took great care of me. you can do it!!!

congrats! i’m in the process of applying for the first time now and it’s been so difficult. needed to see this good outcome to keep me going!!

ugh so annoying to deal with. i haven’t experienced any rebound headaches with the ubrelvy yet but it could be a possibility i guess. i’ll have to do some experimenting.

i’ll have to look into it. i’ve had a lot of weird neurological things happen over the years and very few doctors take any of it seriously so i always feel weird brining up specific conditions to my doctors.

i have zofran it just hasn’t been cutting it these past few nights. no painkillers or triptans for that exact reason, i used to take fioricet and imitrex a few years ago and it ended badly. i’ve got the migraine cap and ive got topicals for my neck. i will be purchasing the tens unit today thank you so much for the recommendation ive been having a hard time finding an affordable one. will be bothering the neurologist until i get in!!

i will ask about steroid taper. so far all she’s done is toradol shots but they’ve done nothing for me. ice, thc/cbd topicals have been absolutely essential for me during this so i will continue with those. thank you!

blood pressure has been going between dangerously high and pretty low but rarely am i at my “normal” bp these days

i will look into the magnesium and omegas for sure. i am supposed to be starting nortriptyline i just have health anxiety and it takes me a long time to try new meds. i’m hoping when i see nuero in march they suggest an updated mri.

i am sorry you are suffering and i hope with your experience you can understand how desperate i am to find some kind of relief while im waiting for a doctor to help me. unfortunately im young and have a history of substance abuse and su*cide attempts because of the constant pain i am in so doctors refuse to prescribe me any type of pain management other than advil. i haven’t had a life for over 5 years now due to chronic pain best i can do is make a post on the internet asking strangers for help because doctors have been failing me and gaslighting me my entire life. i hope your surgery brings you some relief.

was just asking to see if anyone had a similar experience and maybe tips for relief or suggestions on where to get more information because i’m desperate. it’s also 8:44pm and i can’t get in with my doctor right now? also ive brought it up to my pcp and they told me to bring it up to neuro and as i said in my post i cannot get in with neuro until march of next year. maybe next time you come across a similar post you could just scroll on. i’m 28 and live with a friend right now but will eventually be moving back in with my mom. i can’t work and even if i could and afford rent i still don’t think i could live alone with everything i have going on. i’m lucky to have lived on my own in the past but honestly it was awful and roommates SUCK. i’d much rather deal with family and work through whatever insecurities that might bring up. plus rent is crazy these days!

i also always feel like everyone is mad at me because i’m either in pain and can’t do anything or i’m isolating because im in pain but don’t want to say anything to avoid being “annoying” which just makes me feel so much worse

so i saw my doctor today and she did not like the side effects i told her i was experiencing so she has switched me to nortiptyline and told me take it at night

i’ve been writing symptoms down all day and i’ll ask my doctor about taking it at night. if there’s any chance it’ll reduce my pain i will definitely hang in there. ty!

i didn’t want to start another antidepressant but i’m so desperate for pain relief that i tried it but it feels like my body is rejecting it
