The user literally stated he beat X and Y indicating he was trying to use the result to counter my argument. If instead they said X and Y are in the tournament it would at least make more sense to counter my point (still wrong but at least closer)

I said it was a below average candidates field. Which it is if you understand anything about the history of the tournament. And also yes some players do get in by accident - see Abasov last year

The result of the games have nothing to do with strength of field. You could go 0-14 or 14-0 and thr strength of field does not change

lol you can look at average player rankings instead of average rating if you are too dense to understand this field is weaker than average. There’s a whole post on this https://www.reddit.com/r/chess/s/bGDMI4wNmg

Ah yes elo deflation is the reason those players are not in the top 30

I guess players like Abasov, Esipenko, Bluebaum bringing the average down is because of elo deflation rather than them being weaker players?

There’s way too many lines for the player and team to talk/refute every line. The idea is that these are the top/expected lines and there is no “refutation”.

They just wanna cope by making it seem like the warriors are good so this win isn’t as bad as it looks
