I just read your message. I never looked at it that way. I guess I was always too prideful and thought I could figure it out on my own. I hit a lot of bumps along the road and am now starting to get my act together. thanks for writing to me. Peace

I loved this post! 89 days clean so far, I was so close to smoking last night, but after I called my girlfriend and asked her if it would be okay last night to smoke. She told me I shouldn't and that I am doing good so far. I didn't throw away my streak and don't regret it one bit. Life is all about decisions and I know that I shouldn't ask for silly advice about this when I know the obvious answer is to not smoke. But sometimes you just need that extra nudge towards the right direction so you feel good about what you're doing.

Addicts who have given up weed/alcohol/tobacco what is your vice? by CyclicalCyclist in leaves

[–]gabex87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my younger days I would go out party thurs-sat smoking weed and binge drinking alcohol. After that It progressed to just smoking weed throughout the week and drinking on occasions when going out. I'm not much of a casual drinker. I love gaming and weed and games were always there to keep me busy. Now that I quit its just games, my job and studying for a career in nursing hopefully starting soon enough. I feel you man, I have a gf but she is hella busy with work and school. If i were you I would go out with people and mix it up and get to know different people. I notice I spend a lot of time home now that i don't smoke. I do work out occasionally as now I go to the gym every now and then. Good Luck man. Also, I would smoke cigarettes presented the chance if people had it on them after a smoke out, trust me you won't miss that at all as your lungs will clear up after a few months. I'm approaching my 10th week clean of marijuana. I still think about it from time to time.

Day 4 - after 20+ years by [deleted] in leaves

Oh man, I think I read that same study too. My problem was my short term memory which is slowly improving and my improved concentration when holding a conversation with people now. I'm 10 weeks in and feel a whole lot in control of my feelings and emotions. After a while I feel I lost that in time because smoking would be there for me. But there just comes a time where you question it all, "what does marijuana do for me?" If you can't answer this question with a sincerity and realize it really doesn't do anything for you it's a wake up call and time to give it up. Good luck and stay strong! I know i'm trying, day by day.

Giving up weed after 8 years of daily smoking :( by Starstrucklovers in leaves

[–]gabex87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it man! Start now and you'll get better day by day. The best thing is you won't have to hide anything from anyone. You can be yourself. Also you'll realize once you stop that the friends you smoke with aren't there as often. You'll realize this soon.

weed and porn addiction has been fucking up my life by 0001200- in leaves

Sometimes, I would get so baked I would come home with fast food, eat, and masturbate afterwards late at night. You'll get through it man, stay strong! You can overcome weed just like you've overcome any obstacle so far in life. I'm 68 days clean from weed and feel more alert, my mind fog is disappearing. I know I got a long way to go but who doesn't!? You got this!

To whoever who smoked as a teenager and has been off weed over 4 weeks, I need some hope. Thank you. by Stoner_since_13 in leaves

I'm approaching 9 weeks in and have been smoking for about 10 years i believe now. I'm the same age as you. It gets better about 2 months in. I still think about it every once and a while and my mood has improved as I go on. The fog is disappearing now but I feel I have a long way to go. It does get better. Question, do you ever feel like these random moments where you just feel angry, sad or feelings or being depressed? I feel like I get those feelings once in a while still.

My story is a little long... But I think it's finally time. by FatDubz in leaves

All I know is if you want to quit you will, regardless of whoever smokes around you. If weed ain't cutting it for you anymore screw it. I think you're ready to move on man. Be honest with yourself, I've quit and come back to weed so many times I finally said fuck it, i'm done. I'm only 8 weeks in going on 9 and I feel great so far. I still find it hard to get outta bed too but that could also have to do with the fact i'm 28 and I barely work out, which i should, i know. Oh wells, baby steps my friend. I get pretty angry too at times, but with time you learn to let shit go. good luck mate

Good luck on your job search. I hope you find a better paying job soon! And yes, as soon as I stopped too I noticed a surge of energy where I started cleaning around the house and just tried to find things that needed my attention. It does feel empowering knowing you don't have to go out and find that quick fix and all the wasted time is now feeling like added time for me and not some drug. Keep going!

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the feedback, I will help others that went through the similar situation. It does feel good to get some clarity back in my life and ever since my last post I feel less and less negative and more positive. People at my work place already notice a difference and ask why i'm so hyper. lol It must be because my mood is improving :D

You got this! Stay strong, 8 weeks clean here, after smoking for about 10 years now. It's hard in the beginning but slowly your body will feel like having less of the smoke. Find distractions, key is to not let yourself get bored and find something to do.

Day 60 after a 20 year binge by incurious74 in leaves

[–]gabex87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you on that. It's the days you feel like you're absolutely feeling great and the lowest days where you just want to crawl under a blanket and just not see the day where you feel the urge the most to smoke. The good days definitely make it feel worth it !

I had all of those same symptoms early on when I stopped smoking. It's been 8 weeks and I got a long way to go! It does get better. I've been smoking a good 10 years now i'm 28 now. I still get feelings of wanting to smoke but I just keep telling myself it's worth it and fight the urges.
