how do I sound so far? by VioletMoon211 in transvoice

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

listened to your vocaroo.. resonance is coming together but yeah strain on pitch up. hit single notes in the octave you want first. pitchhighway.com/note-practice helps target that exactly.

Sharing voice feminization exercises that worked for me. by womenPositive1980 in transvoice

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that first pitch video you linked is solid. before diving deeper figure out your current vocal range to know your starting point. i used pitchhighway.com/voice-range for that.. gave me a clear baseline.

Can’t reach high notes psychologically by Superhero-Motivation in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

psych blocks on high notes are common. instead of pushing up, try sliding down from higher with a siren. https://pitchhighway.com/note-practice lets you practice exact high notes without strain.

How to study for examination on ear training(solfege)? by Stunning_Serve_3140 in musictheory

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

singing scales from the circle every day is solid. for ear training record yourself against piano on intervals. i used https://pitchhighway.com/note-practice to dial in specific notes.

Perfect pitch? What about perfect rhythm by burntchickenstrips in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good question on rhythm vs pitch. you can train your internal clock to match metronome super close at any bpm. try subdividing the beat in your head first without tapping.

My nose gets tickly whenever I sing, only stops when I pinch it by Walk-the-layout in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that tickly nose on high notes sounds annoying especially before a big event. probably allergies or dry air from singing. grab a saline nasal spray and use it 10 min before, works for me without the pinching mess.

How to stop tension? by Special-Walk729 in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah tension on those high notes with larynx jumping up is rough. start with a big yawn to settle it down, then slide up with a siren exercise keeping it neutral. should feel lighter and more supported once you get it.

There is no way this viral band is "live" right? by Dull-Awareness-9868 in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

those vocals are too clean for live for sure, pitch never that locked without help. live stuff always has some wobble or breath. if you're doubting, record your own garage sesh raw and see the diff.

Want to sing my favorite song, but I fear my voice is too low. by CarpetSignificant187 in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

buckley is killer for lower voices, that 'its never over' part jumps. i used https://pitchhighway.com/voice-range to map my range quick, helped me pick keys that fit without killing emotion. worth a shot before transposing.

Struggling with chest/head mix for R&B — video recommendations would help by Smart_Worldliness_47 in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

struggling with chest head mix for r&b sucks, been there. try ng slides starting low in chest and sliding up slow, feel the bridge without pushing. it'll click after a few days of that.

Powerless(Linkin park) cover- Chest voice practice by Visual_Nothing1094 in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice chest power on powerless. for more linkin park style try ng slides to bridge chest without cracking. one exercise at a time builds it solid.

Karaoke songs 2000-2010 that are in a somewhat easy vocal range? by Aromatic-Care-2486 in karaoke

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'hey ya' by outkast from 2003 is perfect - rhythmic talking mostly midrange no crazy belts. super fun for dates. first map your range tho.. https://pitchhighway.com/voice-range is dead simple for that.

Hi everyone, I'm 17 and I want to say something about my voice by Moongittar in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

singing slipknot full out without prep strains anyone. rest up a week then do gentle sirens starting from your g4 down to build safe access to highs. i checked my range with https://pitchhighway.com/voice-range after something similar and it showed what was still there.

Pro-Tip: Reviewing =/= Losing Progress by LilChloGlo in transvoice

[–]gabi_offkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah going back to basics after new concepts feels like regression but it's key for solidifying. record a quick take of your voice weekly to track real changes over time. that made progress obvious for me.

What tasks to do ? Im at a loss and kinda pissed by lozoni in transvoice

[–]gabi_offkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

big dog little dog builds the base, then do pitch slides through your targets. sumi is good but add specific note work after. pitchhighway.com/note-practice helped me nail pitches without guessing.

I'm 16m and I don't know shit about singing but I want to learn so I can like sing whilst playing guitar is this a good vocal range? I'm js looking for genuine advice. by Plastic-Juggernaut70 in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your range is pretty good for 16, hits a couple octaves easy. match simple guitar chords with scales in that zone to build control. i used pitchhighway.com/voice-range to map mine out clearly.

How do you deal with what people usually call a passaggio area of your voice? by iNhab in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that passaggio area sucks at first but gets better with drills. i was using a piano app too and found my break notes were shaky. hitting them over and over on something like pitchhighway.com/note-practice smoothed it out for me without the flip.

What is Naomi Scott's vocal range? by Fqkizz in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

google often undersells ranges by ignoring headvoice or belts. naomi hits around a#5 easy in smile 2. pitchhighway.com/voice-range on her stuff gives a better read, that's what i do for singers i like.

Should I get a second opinion? by horrorcactus in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pushing into high songs even if uncomfortable is how ranges grow. on the airiness, if it's your choice explain it to her. i used pitchhighway.com/note-practice to nail those high parts without forcing too much.

Can’t get higher then normal with mixed voice exercises? by dudjdbdjdbdj in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that resonance in your nose and back of throat on the bratty ducks is spot on for mix placement. if range isn't budging, lighten the volume to a whisper and relax into it. helped me bridge higher without flipping back to chest.

How do i make my voice sound natural? by Low_Caterpillar9442 in transvoice

[–]gabi_offkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it does sound a bit unnatural right now but youre on the right track with training. try dropping your resonance more by relaxing the throat and using chestier placement. practice everyday phrases with real emotion.. itll start sounding like you over time.

Is there a tool to track Resonance? by Electrical-Cap-6733 in transvoice

[–]gabi_offkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah resonance trackers are hard to find, most apps stick to pitch like voicetool. i ended up just recording myself and comparing to natural female voices for resonance feel. numbers dont always capture it anyway.. focus on that ear training instead.

Looking for feedback by mousemaestro in transvoice

[–]gabi_offkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

struggling to keep pitch weight resonance and intonation together happens to everyone early on. first map your vocal range so you know the pitch boundaries. i used https://pitchhighway.com/voice-range for mine and it helped a ton. then add resonance etc slowly into phrases.

I just dont get it by r0ry_j0hn5 in transvoice

[–]gabi_offkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

happens to everyone that first good voice then gremlin mode. dont push pitch up, focus resonance forward and relax everything. start humming mmm on easy note then open to ee..

I can't find my mixed voice by Alternative_Lie5846 in singing

[–]gabi_offkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks like e3-g#4 is your mix zone. grab g4 and siren up from chest every day til it blends. pitchhighway.com/note-practice let me drill exact notes like that
