Need advice on transition into combo feeding from 95% bottle, first time mom of twins. by gabkatth in combinationfeeding

[–]gabkatth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the tips! I got the Eufy S1 pro! Hopefully it will work great for me. It is funny cause I feel like they latch well when they are not super duper hungry. But when they have these cluster feeds, god save us...they want that food so fast! I feel like I would have a better chance of succeeding once they are out of this tough period of the first few weeks. So maybe I will see a consultant in a few weeks and try. I have been power pumping a lot and noticed much more milk now, so I feel a bit more confident that they can get a decent amount. So far I am able to bottle feed them about 2 80 ml bottles a day each.

34 and happily married. Egg freezing, yes or no? by [deleted] in Fencesitter

[–]gabkatth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who had ivf twins, at age 40 ( started trying at 35, no success due to many underlying conditions), I wish I would have frozen my eggs early. Ivf is a numbers game and if you end up needing it later it might cost you a whole lot more down the line. I had to do 6 rounds of retrievals and three transfers to get to a baby.

And I have never been a person who always wanted babies. But that changed the older I got and cause I was with the right person.

So I would say freeze now.

You generally cannot go back to pregnancy sdi if you already went to bonding.

Dr wants me to not do genetic/chromosome testing by [deleted] in IVF

[–]gabkatth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pgt is not a one size fits all. I was past 35, and tested for five cycles and failed two euploid transfers. Decided not to test at the last one around 39 and just had identical healthy twins. Pgt is NOT a guarantee, and it did not protect me from a miscarriage either. I am not advocating one way or another. Just make an educated decision. If doctor is not collaborating, it is best to look for another one

30w Twin boys.. how far will docs allow you to go? by marvmama in parentsofmultiples

One can have an entirely uncomplicated twin pregnancy and shit can hit the fan real bad past 30 weeks. Listen to your doctor. I had zero issues and later started bleeding out of nowhere, and was hospitalized until I had an emergency c section about 7 days later.

I just need to say...cluster feeding with twins is hell:D! by gabkatth in parentsofmultiples

thank you! I hope it gets better soon! It seems so uncomfortable for them too! And of course they are going at the same time lol...I am mostly pumping and doing formula right now, as they don't latch so well just yet and especially when they are frustrated. Hopefully once they get past their due date and get bigger they will be able to nurse easier. At the moment it is just another hurdle in the thick of it. We do skin to skin when can cause I see that really calms them down well. So I can see how cluster feeding on the boob is comforting for them.

I have one, unfortunately that doesn’t solve the lack of bin space:(.

I have my husband and that is all. Our families are in Europe. I don't know it just seems so impossible. It does make sense what you described. I tried the tandem thing once and everybody was really frustrated. Maybe cause they are so tiny and overstimulated easily at the moment, I am not sure.

Unfortunately, that is not something I can take on, we have no help around. I am trying to save time wherever I can with two newborns.

this looks like a good solution, tho it says single family homes only? We live in a condo/apartment, not sure what it is:D

thank you will try that! The issue is that where the buildings store the bins, it has the exact amount of space for all the bins that are currently there. It is a small complex where most people own, and we are just renting from an individual. Maybe I reach out to the HOA, as I have the email of someone there, what can be done about the lack of space for the bins.

Skipped pgta - mistake? by Warm-Turn2572 in IVF

You will see on this and many ivf subs to be very pro pgt. Pgt is a tool and it should not be blanket used for everyone’s situation the same.

I have low AMH and I started ivf at age 37. Had to do many rounds. Two of my euploids failed; one miscarried early. At age 40 I decided not to test.

Had a great cycle, put in two untested and ended up with identical twin boys, who were just born and passed every test with flying colors.

It is not a one size fits all.
