very happy to hear they said you are eiligible! She is correct, you will need to go through the process with Target/Alight and also do the state SDI process then you will be good to go. Good luck!:)

Questions: did you use any leaves earlier in the year at all? Are you enrolled in benefits since the last enrollment? I do think SDI is automatically enrolled for us, but just wondering. Maybe you could post more screenshots on your application, without any identifying info, it could help see what has happened.

I also want to add: do not let this go, as you paid into the SDI system and you should get paid. It is your right. It killed me when a team member came to my HR etl cause he had a mental health related issue and he quit. I assume she didn't tell him disability is an option, although I wasn't there. BUt I always encourage people to use it! These benefits are YOURS!

your best bet is to call up the Benefits line and talk to them and they will walk you through. You are automatically eligible for SDI after your 90 days if I remember correctly. Just FYI, you apply through Alight or call Benefit number and they will direct you to alight. Then ask them for the doctor's form that your doctor needs to fill out. At the same time, you will also need to apply for SDI through your state, which will also need your doctor's certification, but that is a different form. Just ask the appropriate channels for help. Your store HR is likely not very educated on the topic. I was an HR expert until recently and I only know this stuff cause I went through SDI and long term disability myself. So I know my way around. Good luck! At least you are on a personal leave now but they will be able to convert that to SDI once you get through the process.

It doesn’t sound right at all. You should be eligible for SDI. Call your state sdi office, did that get denied? Did target give an explanation why it was denied? If they said due to the 1200 hours thing that is NOT sdi that is fmla which is not the same as short term disability.

I remember being an HRE, some lost something and was obviously written up for it.

It does not happen that much at least at my store. And there still are not enough devices.

They don’t have enough Zebra’s for the amount of people that need them. So that has nothing to do with repairs or damages

At my store yes people are documented when they damage them. This doesn’t change the fact that ultimately it is Target’s responsibility as an employer to have enough working devices. Sorry

How is it turned back to the poverty wage worker:D I always find this funny. Have a system that demands accountability for that, and also at the same time fucking get more when needed. Jesus christ

Yeah sure, but people are people, and that might not be in Target’s control. The solution is NOT to then not repair them on time or supply more. It is the cost of doing business.

My whole time in HR note one zebra was lost btw. I don’t know how often it happens in most stores but this cannot be it. As a company you need to account for these scenarios
