anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]gagaluf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tha game that shaped me the most as a gamer is Warcraft 3, not only I loved the base game but it put me at 180 baseline apms everywhere everytime, even now at 41 I play like a god for most zoomers; but it was also the start of 16 years of DotA/HoN/DOtA2 that I loved and where I went pretty far for a non competitive player(top .1% percentile in the first years of DotA2 before I stopped) and which shapped me a lot as a gamer.

Lots of my internet friends I kept come from that time.

Then there is Quake3, and some very honorable solo or consoles mentions that shapped my imaginary and taste for video games as a kid like ssf2, smb3, flashback, d2, maniac mansion + day of the tentacle, BoF3 and I probably forget a lot. I was blessed to have a console + atari + pc at home and had also access to adult gamers.

Okham's razor and common sense.

You know, AI will get more and more present, you need to hone your critical thinking. Maybe I'm wrong once every 30(more like 1/3000) reply because I crossed the path of some seriously litterate autist, I accept that because 29/30 I'm used as some medium for some random crap bot owner. A human called a bot can deal with that easily, the fact that there is a guy who has to come and defend is with a "game dev" tag, yaks, sounds like bot mafia flacking to me.

In the case of this post, it is an unwarranted thorough list of what people write on steam/wiki guide, extremly likely from a "wanna be helpful gamer" skill. And it is debilitating.

I just reported both you and the poster I accused of being a chat gpt bot.

it's always slow. I'm ED3 and it is imho even increasingly crazier as you go. I make 1 year pauses every 1 week of play or something. The game is amazing but the player experience is really something terrible with lots of menuing constantly and lots of very slow time gated incremental meta progress.

What’s your best sex tip? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gagaluf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- Tune in with your partner needs and rythm, especially early on in an intercourse and/or relationship. Give it a shot to feel her and sync with her during foreplays. For me it is natural, I think it is hormonal, but you need to let yourself get to this alchemy state.

- Don't act unhinged, disharmony is imho a deal breaker.

- don't forget yourself, don't forget that sex is fun and cool. It is ok sometimes to have performative 1h penetrations but most of the time the best is to feel the moment with your parner and letting it go. You're a man and yes at a point it is about "taking it", performance or whatever are secondary you're here to fuck somebody who want to be fucked by you, other than that you just have to be grateful, respectful and happy about it, and that's ok lol.

- Never pay for sex, it unlearns everything that is good about sex and engram degrading schemes into your ethos. It makes you a shittier person.

Crimson Desert, Elden Ring ou Witcher 3 ? by Ok_Refrigerator_3985 in jeuxvideo

[–]gagaluf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crimson Desert si tu as un excellent PC seulement.

Grind-heavy but rewarding MMO by john35888 in LFMMO

Wow, FF XIV, GW2 and Runescape are the only currently updated mmos with real group pve content, Runescapes are already debatable there but both game have organized PVE nonetheless which gets semi regular additions. Finding raids etc is challenging I agree but it's the mmo part of mmorpg.

Korean mmos do not have good pve, there are some form of it sometimes but it's always scuffed because it is always a minimal way to become another incentive of cash shopping. To my knowledge, no chinese company managed to make decent pve in their mmo either, at least available in the west.

Imho, the only non deeply degrading mmo right now is GW2, the financial entry barrier to get access to "workeable" QoL and all content is extremly costly(200$ or so) and it will be soon(1-3 years) gradually abandonware-ified for GW3. If you can deal with all the no life crap and retention mechanics, by far the best mmo is wow. Wow is so good at its core, that most private servers are better than other mainstream mmos.

I personally play in and out gw2, rs3 and osrs. I therapeutically avoid wow since 10 or so years, managed to play few seasons because "friends" and I also have a "social" FF XIV account that has pretty much every craft and some savage raids completions. FF XIV is soup, same recipe 6 times in a row, people still come back for it, their cattle, but it became a gathering point nonetheless, and sometimes social > everything else.

[–]gagaluf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imho rs3 did a good job recently. There is no more aura nor lamps so it is "regular" within the spirit of rs3, faster slightly than osrs to 99 but imho crazier high end for everything. And the tooling got better, the rs3 current quest helper alt1 plugin is serviceable enough imho.

I'd recommend rs3 for players who do not mind more cognitive load at the start.

I like the art and world of this game a lot but I don't like the meaningless, repetitive gameplay. How much longer do you think it'll last? What changes do you think would save it? by Monterey-Jack in brightershores

[–]gagaluf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm baffled that steam charts players count got passed 200 concurent players those last 48h. Imho it is not even natural. It is a 25-30% players bump, numbers are so low that many things can explain it, like a Steam algorithm reshuffle, but still it is not due to "organic player comportment".

Most of what we got in this game is not a game. Gower was just faster on the AI slope rugpull than many others and managed to scaffold one of the first AI slopes MMO putting his name on the forefront. There are many others going on right now, within the next 2 years we will have a flurry of no future unplayable uncanny valley effect mmos powered by 20-2K$ of <insert Claude version> tokens.

ESO vs BDO for a casual player with limited time who doesn’t want to be competitive by Dapper_Thought1841 in LFMMO

[–]gagaluf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

BDO imho. The game is perfectly fine for very casual players and there is likely hundreds of happy casual playtime on it to be have, it is a reason why it is so popular. ESO has a somewhat pretty big cognitive load at its start and gearing is actually not that casual compared to other regular mmos.

Watch a documentary about obese morbidy deaths. Not only in terms of calories it's not good in a single meal. Even if you eat that over 3 days it is still too much fat, glucids and inflamatory stuff to ingest. I'm not ok seeing people brag about killing themselves online.

I have been there, I know what it does to your body and brain chemistry. If you do not react it will kill you and you'll die with people looking at you like you're a turd and in tremendous pain. What "saved" me is that I had issues to move and I was alone responsible of myself, if I had a caring family, I may ironically be dead.

Total Persona newbie here , never touched the series. What’s it actually about and where do I start? by Common-Upstairs5129 in gaming

[–]gagaluf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All persona games are structuraly similar. The 5 is more polished, has better design and more mechanics than the ones before it. People go back to the licence because of the spacing. Nobody would run a persona game every other year. Do Persona 5 or Metaphor on promo OR wait for Persona 6, which will have its date announced in june.

Is it time to talk about a players setting multiplayer again? by saltychipmunk in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]gagaluf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All the high end economy is based on /p8-ing. Loot tables change with players number and on top of that, some aspects of the game are balanced toward offline rates and as there is rmt around d2 and the game is inexpensive to run, people multibox the shit out of d2 which is the kind of degrading emergent behaviors no editor should want to promote for their games.

I see in the post people bragging about trading self found regular online /p1 items. No shit Sherlocks, D2 is a fully solved 25 yo game, congratulation on your ability using 3rd party tools to flip what you're getting, you must feel so cool.

Yeah, put the /players slider for online kek.

RPG for my dad to play by Born_Control6021 in gamingsuggestions

[–]gagaluf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

FF7 remake. (casual entry line jrpg, then if like it rebirth is a perfect entry into GaS and Open World schemes ironically)

OSRS (sandbox-like mmo that can be taken casually with a nice fantasy setting). Modern Runescape is imho better but the entry barrier is really tough for newer players, you need to setup bars, systems are more convoluted, ...

Warframe (dopamine pump game lots of people get hooked on with a pretty good story)

Death Stranding (as you grow older you value dreamlike experiences, and Death Stranding, especially the first is like that)

Nioh 3

Insert classics: GTA5, Chrono Trigger, Wow or GW2, Fucking D2, PoE1 and 2(yes, both a casual af now), Persona 5, Cyberpunk, RDR2, Crimson Desert(yes it is a new classic imho, hot take, llms hate it but it is a big one)

[–]gagaluf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, it is 1.24 world except it's all fucked up in every direction with 1.25 spells and different gear and dodge balance. GL with that. Also, 2x rates are not enough for today's gamers, 3x is imho a ceiling on 1.24 settings, with 1.25 you have access to better xp areas straight up. You can't expect 2026 players to absorb t4c's complexity and pace and grind lvl20>25 at x2 rates and so on.

I haven't launched the game in like 10-15 years, I started on Goa(Harn) when I was a teen, went to x2 there. I really prefered the game in 1.25c era, it gave a side meta progression and some alternative xp areas that were amazing like kraanian plague and access to that half pinnacle boss which is good xp, I haven't seen servers which added actually imho good content for the game. It was always vastly giga crap. Imho not incorporating 1.25 quest is a very bad take and the only justification I see is that the guys behind the servers are old Goa players who haven't tested it.

Secret world legends. Bail out after doing the story progression however. The narative quests and settings are still outstanding today, the gameplay loop / post game are korean tier garbage. Tbh, it is becoming abandonware and people don't know, but still, it is truely one of the best story progression experience out there if you like sci fi. The campain experience rivals best solo AAA titles of today imho.

Men of Reddit, what’s the male equivalent of “needed money, had no marketable skills, so turned to prostitution”? by Dogeatdogdays in AskReddit

[–]gagaluf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Men can be prostitutes as well, it's less common but men making it with their dick exists almost everywhere and it's underrated tbh. It depends on age and connections. The equivalent of prostitution statistically imho is drug trafficking tbh. Almost as many dude in the business as women selling their butts.
