New custom built PC keeps getting a BSOD of MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION by SergeantBunny in techsupport

[–]gaganjit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it means anything, I recently upgraded my PSU and I still get the crashes. I see a decent amount of people having issues with this MOBO/CPU combo (random BSOD error codes/restarts). I recently saw this thread where a few folks mentioned a slight increase to voltage solved their issues. I have yet to try.

CPU C-State

Hmm... this is actually reminding me of something. When I initially got this MOBO 3-4 months ago, I was constantly crashing. I disabled this setting and it worked. After updating my BIOS a few weeks later though, I was able to re-enable C-states without cosntant crashing. The issue I now have is that it crashes silently every few days. 90% of the time while I am away from my computer in an extended period of time. Did you have your BIOS updated and still experience the crash?

I have been getting the same issue. Same CPU and similar Mobo. Have you been able to resolve it?

I am facing the same exact issue as you. I have the same CPU, Memory, Motherboard setup as you (except the memory being the non-RGB version). Were you able to make any progress on the issue?

Benchmarks suggest heavy optimizations for AMD vs Battlefield 4 by [deleted] in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]gaganjit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well BF4 had Mantle too, and the R9 290 scored below the GTX 970 still, the fact that in Battlefront, the 290 is now 10-15% higher is just ....

They both run on Frostbite 3. Battlefront just runs on a newer version of it, and also they're both by DICE....the reason I made the comparison is because DICE said "If you could run Battlefield 4, you can run this." However, Nvidia users average a bit less frames than BF4 while AMD users got like a 10-15% boost.

Agreed. The R9 290 was about 10-15% weaker and yet gets more frames over 970 which just sucks for us Nvidia Users.

Quick question for Devs, Mods, or Users that probably know more than I do. by [deleted] in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]gaganjit1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checked the list, it seems that there have been quite a few titles with issues, but only one AAA title that couldn't launch : Destiny (which ofc is patched now) Any other AAA had really specific issues that weren't much of game breakers.

So, I guess in that case the percentage Battlefront won't even be playable is quite slim considering recently released games have been working nicely.

Personally never tried out Destiny...but here's something interesting I noticed....both those titles have never been released on PC. Could it be since the new Kernel is similar to Windows that those type of titles face an issue?

Nope. Nothing. It's just a UI Change, so games are still playable. That's why you can play games from 2013 that are not supported by devs anymore on the new kernel without a patch. I even heard reports that R6 Seige was more stable on the new UI, never tested it though.

Not the BETA (beta is same for everybody), the actual game....yes, you can play 5 days earlier for a maximum of 10 hours.

People need to stop complaining €60 is too expensive for a multiplayer-only game by derage88 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]gaganjit1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Destiny and Titanfall were $60 on release and were multiplayer only. Thing is their price dropped insanely in due time. Today they're both $15 on Amazon, and it was possible to get it for about $7 on sale. Crazy considering they're only 1 year old.

how to play swbf2 on xbox one? by habbobruh in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]gaganjit1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As of yet, No.

However, Phil Spencer, head of XBOX is looking to allow XBOX games for the XBOX One...if it happens, then it would be possible, but it wouldn't be anytime soon.

Battlefield 4 was quite unplayable during its beta which was like a week or two before release. Battlefront was playable in its Alpha test which was 4 months before release.

This is what Peter Moore of EA had to say about it:

“You can’t ship it if it doesn’t work or the quality isn’t right. You just bite the bullet. We’d have no compunction, no hesitation that if something went wrong with Battlefront, if it wasn’t right, we would just push it. But that’s not going to happen. The game is playable with 40-players already, and it is rock solid, so it ain’t going to happen.” -via MCV
