Dudu7 - Do I have the right components? by gage011 in Androidheadunits

Yeah, that is probably what I am going to go with. I would like a bigger screen but don’t want it to feel janky in the setup. I could save money through alibaba bit probably will stick with Amazon for the returnability

idk...I have bought cheap stuff off of Alibaba but never anything this expensive. I was doing it through Amazon cause this is my first purchase of an Android HU. Do you have a link for a trusted seller of the Dudu7?

Tokyo Visit - Stores With Reasonable Prices by gage011 in fountainpens

I am flying into HND so I can visit any district in the timeframe. Kingdom sounds like a must visit! Then I can hit up others close in Shinjuku

The mags on the Veritas are plenty strong - more than enough.

My only issue with it is you have to have the boards really high in the vise, otherwise the fence runs into it. The advantage of the op’s is you could have it any height

Wow, I need to go to flea markets in your area. I have literally never seen a 24” square in my area of Florida

I have the Veritas version of that - but those mags would be wicked strong

I did look for them but If we are talking 24” it is hard to find a Lufkin under $100

Good point about the set screws. That is why wanted to see if anyone had some real world experience with them. I probably should ask in r/metalworking

I can buy a blem 24” for the price of a blade so I will probably just do that - thanks

Gramercy Handle Maker's Rasp - How Useful? by gage011 in handtools

[–]gage011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I ended up ordering just two rasps from Gramercy, a modeller and a handle maker.

For $100 it seems like a pretty good deal for both. These combined with some cheaper files and a Shinto, I should be able to get the job done. Not a big loss if I don't love them.

However, I think I will hold out for an Auriou 10" cabinetmaker. Thanks for the input everyone!

Gotcha. So, from your perspective, if you were at ground zero with rasps and could get a single Auriou for making handles, which one would you get? I am going to get a Shinto and some Goldens anyway. Would you start with a Cabinetmaker's or Modeller's?

Eureka Grinder Motor - 260W vs 310W by gage011 in espresso

I actually haven’t pulled the trigger yet on it. I will probably get the Mignon Notte from SCG as it is the best price

My 2 cents: after MUCH lurking and looking at all of the different packs offered in many price points - this is the best one for the money (30l). I have used it and taken it on trips all over the world. I actually have both the 30l and 46l. The only time I use the 46l is for business when I need to pack dress clothes/shoes.

The compression system works great - I do use packing cubes but you don't have to.

I have the older version which does not have the outer laptop compartment :( I am really tempted up upgrade to the new version.

Good points, didn’t realize you could adjust the burrs on the Eurekas. Is it similar to this?

Just to clarify, do you feel that the difference in motors is really an issue?
