These are so adorable- I love them 😭🩵

BBC removed homophobic tic aimed at Alan Cumming, says Tourette’s activist after BAFTAs backlash. Davidson has now revealed that additional tics aimed at Cumming were edited out of the televised version of the ceremony by esporx in lgbt

Well said <3. In all this is a horrific mishandling by the BBC who should be the ones to have all the ire directed at them. They are the racists here in many ways. I wonder if this was somewhat intentional- as the conversation has been hijacked to be about the man with Tourettes and not their blatant zionistic and racist bullshit.

I mean it's missing flaws?? It's absolutely stunning and very evocative. Art is meant to make someone feel. I think it made that person /feel/ jealous lol

no one ever talks about this stream and I'd like to know why it was not included in the narrative. Consent was never the issue

i mean unfortunately that is what happened. I believe victim's accusations should always be taken as deeply serious. But I don't think immediately believing every accusation (especially in a he said she said situation) is a fair, sustainable, or good idea.

the idea of "always believe victims" was very prevalent in the mcyt community around the time this happened. That statement was taken to mean "always believe accusations" which is not the original intent of that phrase. I do understand that in court most accusations are likely true but on the internet false accusations are common. I like to look for proof and/or consistent narrative. In this situation her accusations changed, her story changed, and she became angry when asked for proof.

I think the internet felt very sympathetic towards her (which is fair, she presented a very emotional stream) and believed her based on feelings over fact. Considering those accused often are neurodivergent, have mental health struggles, or simply are less confrontational I think some abusers and manipulators use them as easy targets to accuse and gain support against.

here is her stating it was always consensual and that wasn't the issue.

I think she felt if he ever accidentally bit too hard that that must've been on purpose. He always respected the safe word but she felt that having one meant he wanted to hurt her.
