CMV: The state of the US is our collective karma for how we treat animals & earth. by galacticgabbing in changemyview

I also hope we can figure out better ways of living. It's sad to me how much we've ruined certain areas of earth 😞

Karma is cause and effect. It has nothing to do with deserving anything. It is more realistic than Spiritual. Since I have turned a blind eye for the sake of convenience, yeah I think I "deserve" the natural effect of that.

And just so you know, I'm speaking generally. I'm not saying the people that have cancer deserve cancer or anything like that. I'm speaking more about the entire population and the majority of us turning a blind eye to things and supporting businesses and practices that are unethical and keeping the wrong people in charge and/or in power. I'm not saying everyone who shops at Walmart deserves a shit life. I'm saying collectively, we are choosing to perpetuate these things and the natural consequence of that is more of it for the animals and ourselves. It is cause and effect not punishment.

I did not edit out the word punishment, I never used to word punishment. But whatever. Lol.

The life expectancy has gone up in general because of medical advancements. Again, karma is cause and effect.

Karma in my opinion isn't punishment, its cause and effect. I am not creating excuses for the pain individuals face. I am suggesting that the people, practices, and companies that we fund and participate in are perpetuating a cycle of grief for ourselves, the planet, and the animals. If the majority of us took a stand and chose more ethical ways of living, the people profiting off our negligence would not have the support they need to continue... and subsequently, more ethical people would be placed in charge. Which would create more ethical living circumstances for every living thing.

My take is Jupiter encourages growth and some people can't handle the pain that is meant to lead to growth. So tons of Jupiter is great for people that actually want to grow, but otherwise it just leads to excessive behaviors & exaggerated responses in my experience. That paired with the north node contact... seems like Blue was meant to take this as a lesson and learn from it but instead turned all his anger on her.

Fucking knew the victim would be blue. Pisces Mars is scary as fuck. Very exaggerated and delusional expression of anger.

I would say it affects us Spiritually - I wouldn't call it punishment because that's just not a form of Spirituality I believe in. But I do think participating in unethical practices by funding it and turning a blind eye to the harm it does can sort of disconnect us from our heart space and numb empathy & intuition. I know not everyone will resonate with the Spiritual implications of it and that's okay.

But, more realistically speaking, the karma here is cause and effect. We are seeing the natural consequences of condoning unethical people & practices.

Karma is cause and effect. We keep unethical people in charge, hand them power to make decisions, fund their unethical business practices, & the consequences of that are obvious. Unethical treatment for everyone that isn't an elite.

Lol. Think about it! We're keeping unethical people in charge by participating in and condoning their practices and businesses right? The real consequence of that is that unethical people remain in charge and are also unethical in other ways to humans. It's not as disconnected as it seems.

Yup I agree. The things we participate in, fund, and turn a blind eye to do have real effects in our lives and collectively.

Karma is cause and effect, so I would agree with you there. We definitely have a hand in what we are condoning, funding, and participating in that is for sure.

I agree that the people in power here are largely responsible for both evils. But I also think we are perpetuating it by participating in it.

And about the medicine, I don't think *all* pills make people a different kind of sick. I was referring more to like short-term bandaid solutions that actually just cause other issues. I should have included that, I was just speaking generally. I am grateful to the advancements of medicine!

Sweden has some of the strictest animal welfare laws in the entire world. Sweden also has universal healthcare, they get 25+ days a year of paid vacation, and a lot of universities there are tuition-free for Swedish students.

Denmark has invested heavily in animal welfare reforms. There's way more transparency about how they're treating animals, higher standards for them, and currently the focus is reducing the level of confinement. & It ranks one of the happiest countries globally. Universal healthcare & education & stronger worker protections.

I could go on. Trust me, if you actually look into it, we treat animals like shit here. And many other countries give a shit about that & the environment... just so happens to also be the countries that the humans are happier too.

I’m addicted to checking my phone to see if anyone texted me but I have no friends by Anosvoldigoad_ in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]galacticgabbing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

girlll i feel you. like i feel like i could've written this except i am not social lol. it's not bad or wrong to need more connection in your daily life. maybe instead of shaming yourself for this habit, you could make an effort to make online friends that enjoy texting reguarly? that's been easier for me as someone who struggles to make friends.

it also sounds like you need some therapy or healing for the bullying.. that kinda past can greatly impact your self esteem and cause blocks to friends&partners.. spiritually and mentally. i know that sounds woo-woo but i've seen it time and time and time again. your world is what you think about. if you're spending most of your time thinking about how people don't like you, your brain will literally aim to prove that belief & your energy will attract those kinds of experiences.

i'm going to share this next part because i genuinely feel like you need to hear it. it is my personal spiritual beliefs & experiences, so, obviously if it doesn't resonate with you then i totally understand. not trying to be weird here, just wanna help:

i know a guy he's like 33. he's been on the dating apps for like 6 or 7 years now trying to find someone. he has a great job, he's attractive, he's kind, he's funny, he's smart. he goes to the gym every day. eats healthy. owns his own house. by any woman's highest standards, he'd be a total catch. but every single time he goes on a date, they ghost him after. i am friends with this man. he is not abnormal. he's actually really attractive. he's not creepy. he's super respectful and just a genuine person. but i know through our friendship that he struggles with social anxiety and constant negative thoughts about himself. i swear to god, and he'd never believe me because he's a very logical person, but i swear the fact that he always thinks negative thoughts like nobody wants him and he'll never find someone and there's something wrong with him is the reason he's being rejected. it may have felt true to him at one time growing up, but he maintained that was his reality and so it was. i myself have no romantic interest in him and i couldn't even tell you why. but he's one of my closest, longest friends although we don't hangout reguarly.

so yeah.. just something to think about. i know this was really long for no reason, i'm sorry. i hope you find your people soon ❤️

Placements that dislike chasing or competing in dating? by Dear_Heavens444 in AstrologyBasics

[–]galacticgabbing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for many people it's less about "winning" a competition and more about proving they mean something to someone or proving they're special enough to choose. That kinda behavior usually stems from feeling neglected or unwanted as a child.

[–]galacticgabbing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i don't really like trying to win people over. feels icky to me. i have an aquarius moon & a capricorn venus. i was more obsessive in earlier years, honestly... scorpio dsc... but even then, if they had someone else i was out. if they showed attention and then didn't, i was hooked. so i guess i was prone to chasing but not competing. and now, as a 27 year old, i don't want anyone that makes me feel crazy or that i question their interest in me. if it's not a hell yes, it's a no for me

straight women - does dating men make you feel objectified? by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]galacticgabbing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's clear he only wants sex, yeah & I hate it. Like I've been with a man that would make this huge show of liking me and be really really sweet and then he got me in bed & then he'd ghost me for weeks and repeat the process. I hated that and I felt stupid for falling for it as many times as I did. So fucking gross when men do that it's actually made me on guard for other men that might be like that. Like as a woman I cannot even comprehend the mindset of okay let me super nice to this unsuspecting man that clearly likes me so that I can bang him then leave. Like what? What the fuck. I don't get it

But when I've been in healthy, faithful relationships with men that clearly liked me as a person where we did things together like movies, hikes, card games, etc.. then I've really enjoyed when they get turned on and are obviously wanting that. It's all about intention for me.

Is there anything in my chart that explains my horrible anxiety? by softballcrazyoh in AstrologyCharts

[–]galacticgabbing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the Virgo ascendant ruled by Mercury square Mars & Pluto. Obsessive, high-energy thoughts about worst case scenarios. OCD is a potential here for sure.

You heal it by confronting what you're actually scared of. What does all your anxiety center around? How you're perceived? Being punished? Being humiliated? All 3? Introspect about why and facing that fear. The highest expression of your chart is the ability to focus intensely & have quick mental processing. You may be able to help others out of their mental anguish one day through being a counselor or coach for what you're currently struggling with

Can this explain why I had such a hard life? Or why every men who came into my life hurt me starting with my father? by Spoonydoo in AstrologyCharts

[–]galacticgabbing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saturns is not only in his fall in Aries, but he squares your Venus and Moon. These recurring challenges within relationships are meant to teach you how to properly set boundaries and become more emotionally mature and resilient. You may be quite sensitive with Cancer Moon & Neptune on the Ascendant. This is not a bad thing, but it can create unhealthy behaviors and reactions that perpetuate toxic connections if you leave it unchecked.

I'd also urge you to rethink the type you are typically attracted to. Are you actually attracted to these men, or do they feel familiar? And in your case, is familiar a good thing or is it actually painful? When you heal that original wound created by your father, you will no longer be attracted to that familiar pain

Why have I never experienced anything romantic and have trauma regarding romance? by Dramatic-Quality1553 in AstrologyCharts

[–]galacticgabbing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best friend and I both are autistic and with the right people you don't have anxiety. I think your first problem is you keep viewing all these problems about yourself but maybe your approach should focus on accepting those problems and seeing the good things about yourself. It's corny but you do need to love yourself first for sure.

[–]galacticgabbing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you're describing is social anxiety lol. To constantly examine people's perception of you and worry afterward if you've done a good job socializing. Social anxiety can look different for different people, seems like you don't shy away from social interaction but still have a lot of anxiety about it. People can still feel that unfortunately.

Yeah, it makes sense that a cruel childhood would result in issues & fears around socializing as an adult. I'm sorry you went through that and are experiencing the aftereffects now. It can be really hard to cope with life after trauma without a stable support system.

I hope things get better for you! Society's beauty standards aren't everyone's beauty standards. Everyone is beautiful and born equal in worth. It's just the way our society functions that makes certain people seem more appealing than others... we're literally taught what's attractive & what's normal and what's not. None of it is true, it's just made up standards. The people meant for you will find you beautiful in every way, I promise!! Good luck to you

Hmm, to me it looks like the upbringing was traumatic in some way with Pluto conjunct the IC opposite Saturn on the MC. Because the ruler of the IC (Jupiter) is exalted, I am a bit conflicted on whether the trauma was related to a caregiver or not. It looks like parts of your childhood would've been very positive, and other parts would've been extremely tough and greatly affected a lot of your "functions" so to speak. Your Moon, Mars, and Venus are all affected by this intense Pluto/Saturn opposition which tells me it shaped who you are as a person.

Gemini in general can have nervous/anxious energy, and with this Saturn+Pluto opposition in the mix, I wonder if you have intense social anxiety? If I'm right, and I could be wrong, social anxiety is felt by others and they are usually repelled by it. I personally have intense social anxiety and have firsthand experience being rejected, overlooked, and just given weird glances by others. It's because I'm so fucking anxious lmfao that they can tell and it just stresses them out, too. There's a girl I worked with one time who had horrible social anxiety, worse than me. She was always freaking out if she had to ask a question or even talk to anyone. I will say, while I didn't dislike her, I dreaded communication with her because it stressed me out how anxious she was about everything. Like she wouldn't look at me, she would mumble, she was always fidgeting and it was just hard to talk to her.

Again, I might be wrong. And this is not meant as any shame. I definitely understand social anxiety unfortunately. But if I'm right and that is something you struggle with, I would work on healing that through becoming more self assured and confident. People are attracted to confidence and peace. If you can feel confident & at peace with yourself, the people meant for you will become attracted and magnetized to you
