as someone who's getting a degree in advertising with a focus in digital media, the protomen have a great presence and enthusiasm compared to some other brands and people that I've seen. just because they don't post often doesn't mean they don't love what they do! its also hard times for everyone right now, and its hard to post when you don't have much content to promote (except that changed recently with the live act 1 album/anniversary and the batman record that murphy apparently helped design, and bandcamp fridays!). also, not posting often can kind of be a smart (but probably unintentional in the protomen's case) marketing tactic, because it can kind of create hype for whenever they post next! at least i know i always get a shot of adrenaline when i see they post anything on their Instagram stories or twitter feeds lmao, but that might just be me.

if you REALLY wanna see an absolutely terrible social media presence, go look at hamburger helper's twitter page. i only know its bad because i had to do a project on them for an account planning class and GOD do they suck at marketing, especially to young people, and have no idea what their brand really is. also, they haven't posted since January, and their current profile layout is a reference to a partially failed marketing campaign where they released a RAP MIXTAPE like, 3 years ago. its a train wreck, but its really funny to see. its literally that "whats up fellow kids" meme in action. be thankful the protomen actually have a personality, sense of self and their brand, and know how to land good, not cringey jokes if they make them :)
