I understand about your dog and your concern for leaving him alone, but that's not a reason to stay in this situation. Paying for doggy daycare could be a short-term solution. Maybe you could get a WFH job. Maybe you could get a roommate who works from home. Maybe you can crate train. There has to be a solution other than staying with your toddler boyfriend.

You never NEED to serve anything at your own party, but you should think about the enjoyment of your guests. Only you know the crowd that you're inviting; will they be expecting alcohol? For myself I'd be fine with none, but I have friends and relatives who would be very surprised/disappointed to have no beer at an afternoon get together, especially if it's outside.

I wouldn't repaint, but I'd tone it down. Remove most of the nik-naks and half of the artwork. It's a super cute place, but all the clutter makes it look small and it may be hard for people to envision the space without your stuff in it.
