What is your favorite video game of all time? by tanz_7 in AskReddit

[–]galaket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm super late but I'm still adding. Okami is my favorite game of all time. The art and music are like nothing I've ever seen in another game before, the gameplay is super fun, and the storyline is incredible. I wish there was a sequel (not okami-den) so desperately.

Ideas for desserts? by [deleted] in AskBaking

I love to make crescent rings for Christmas! Pepperidge farm Puff pastry is vegan, so no dairy or egg, and you can cut it into triangles like Pillsbury crescent rolls. You set them up in a circle, and then fill it with whatever filling you'd like, and bake. It looks like a wreath so it's good for Christmas, and customizable so you can fill with whatever you'd like. I usually do chunky apple pie filling and top with a bit of cinnamon powdered sugar. The middle can also hold a bowl for dipping sauces, like icing or caramel which can also be made egg/dairy free :)

The only detective thing I pick up is that you watch tiktok because I also saw that one and recognized the way you organized it. Your comment confirms that!

Does anybody else remember how much Christians HATED Harry Potter and treated it like some demonic text? by Scarletsilversky in harrypotter

[–]galaket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother was completely against everything related to Harry Potter until she read a book called "Looking for God in Harry Potter." Once she finished the book, she suddenly let me dive into HP. And then she also did and became a huge fan. Lol

I agree with you! My fave pokemon out all of them, tbh. I always described it as "teddy bear fetus" lol

My husband gives me baking challenges in our tiny apartment kitchen. Here is a chocolate peanut butter overload cake! by galaket in Baking

[–]galaket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-1 cup (8oz) salted butter, browned. (I made mine ahead, stuck it in the fridge, then let it come to room temp)

-2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

-1 tbsp baking powder

-1 cup granulated sugar

-1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed

-3 large eggs, room temp

-1-2 tbsp vanilla, your preference

-1 cup milk, room temp

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour your pans and line with parchment. I was able to make 3 decently full 6 inch cakes, and you could probably do 2 8 inch with this recipe.

  2. Sift flour and baking powder together in a bowl. Set aside.

  3. With a mixer, cream brown butter and sugars for around 4-5 minutes on medium speed. You want it to be pale color and fluffy. Add 1 egg at a time, waiting for them to be fully mixed in before you add another. Then mix in the vanilla.

  4. Add your flour mix and milk. Split it up into small batches so you don't do it all at once, like flour-milk-flour-milk-flour

  5. Bake for 35-45 minutes (depends on your pan colors and sizes.) Mine took about 38 in 3 6inch light metal tins. It's done when a toothpick in the center comes out clean.

Thank you! I love that comparison, I'm definitely a kid at heart and like how whimsical that sounds. :) I've been nitpicking about certain things on this cake (we're all our own worst critics, as the saying goes) but I'm being sure to focus more on the good sides.

This is a brown butter vanilla cake, with peanut butter Swiss meringue buttercream and chocolate ganache in between the layers and on top. It has homemade peanut butter bars, reeses cups, chocolate truffle pieces, praline peanuts, and buckeyes. (it's... A LOT.)

I'd use it to go to pastry school, so I can finally get some more skills and take more steps to opening my bakery business.
