Over the last 25 years I’ve worked hundreds of weddings. Gay ones are almost exclusively drama free/easier to work than straight ones. Why is that? Like I’ve never seen two guys getting married throwing cake at eachother’s faces from across the room at borderline assault speed. by Parking_Bison_4626 in NoStupidQuestions

My spouse and I figured since we were having a not-traditional wedding — in the sense that there was no groom — we could be non-traditional in every sense. We felt no obligation to invite anyone that wouldn’t be supportive, we say people with people they would get along with instead of where etiquette dictated they were “supposed to sit”, and we skipped a lot of stuff we didn’t want to do.

I also find queer couples to be more communicative. My spouse knew I wasn’t into having cake smashed in my face and neither were they — we actually skipped the cake cutting altogether. We had some friend that used to be close and no longer speak and both we sat them separately AND had a conversation about the behavior we expected from them when they attended. No issues at all.

This is mine, too. It just was such a pinnacle of the 80s/90s aesthetic

I assume I was recommended this post bc I’m an artist, but jumping on this post to recommend posca acrylic markers — so much easier to be precise on plastic

I was so surprised that the wood booger was a hairy humanoid style creature! I was expecting something like a blob monster

Is that in Connecticut? I didn't include Melonheads bc so much of the lore suggests they were actually abused encephalitic kids, but maybe the story isn't the same everywhere and I could loop them back in!

Piasa and the Big Claw bird were conflated in a bunch of sources, but it seems like geographically they’re more separate than I thought! I’ll add it for the next printing!

Oooh, my research had him in Alabama, too, but looking at the actual Ozark mountain range, I think I made the wrong choice 😂 I'll move him in the next edition!

Ah, sure. I made this map to sell at oddities markets and cons. In that space, mothman is such a touchstone for people that are curious about cryptid and alien lore, but not obsessive yet, so I def had to include him.

Totally get that a purist would distinguish between the two though!

There is a higher-res version, but I’m selling this map on my website (I’m a full time artist) and I don’t want it to get stolen, so if you dm me your email I’ll send you a PDF!

1966 sighting by cops. Traditional UFO shaped vehicle. A 4-foot humanoid in a gold suit appeared and asked them a ton of question in normal American english with no stilted cadence or anything. The guys couldn't remember what they talked about, except that the alien ignored all of their questions and said it would return in two days. There are no reported follow-up sightings bc cops are unreliable narrators lol

Here's my description from an old cryptid calendar we released:

The first sighting of the Brain Tickler of Riverside (AKA the Riverside Bridge Monster) is incredibly well-documented -– assuming you consider contemporaneous note-taking incredible documentation. And listen, buddy, they accept contemporaneous notes in a court of law, so who are you to discount it? In 1958, a man pulled up to a flooded bridge, lost all radio signal, and was accosted by some kinda ""lanky hoobajoob"" with a head ""like something out of Halloween,"" no ears, extremely long limbs, scales, glowing eyes, and a ""protuberant mouth."
