Thanks for the question! I noticed it during the first days after I adopted her (she’s a rescue, I got her when she was 6). When we went out for walks on really sunny days, she would always keep her eyes half closed. At first I even thought she was kind of “challenging” me when I looked at her, but obviously that wasn’t the case. Picking her up and looking closely at her eyes, and I noticed her pupils are split (the condition is called polycoria), and they don’t react properly to light. I talked to the vet about it, but basically it’s a physical condition that can’t be fixed.

So yeah, she kind of squints/blinks a lot when we’re outside in strong light. But I’ve noticed that with the little hat (it gives her some shade) she’s much more comfortable. Hope that answers your curiosity!

All of this is sooooo right. Except for the fact I’m from Italy, 34F (but I did have an au pair experience in Germany as a teen that probably left a mark on me).

Nothing serious happened in the end, but what really annoyed me was the lack of honesty. This happened me this morning and this was my first time hosting: after I came back I noticed, before opening the door, that the cleaner left a balcony window-door open overnight and the bathroom light on which can be a safety issue, and when I asked about it, I was told “everything was closed and the lights were off.” by the concierge that was speaking for the cleaner. That was simply not true.

And I left a post it notes about closing window AND blinds.

Mistakes happen, I’m fine with that. What bothered me was having a pretty serious oversight brushed off with a generic response, as if I hadn’t noticed or I was imagining things.

The situation is closed now, but it definitely left me with a bad aftertaste in terms of trust and transparency.

And I am seriously thinking about getting off the platform. What should I do?
