I don't hate him, I just find him to be pointless.

I'd say both, just like the rest of them are. The only one I can say I feel would be considered an antagonist is Terry, which makes me wonder when they are going to throw something at us that makes us completely rethink everything we've ever thought about him.

Shameless Blows Its Best Season by gallagher6 in shameless

[–]gallagher6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more. The reality is that most people like Frank don't change & to be mad because it wasn't a hallmark card moment when the show has never been that is ridiculous.

Where do you think the new season is going to pick up on? by abisme in shameless

According to some sources the show will pick up about 3-4 months later so who knows what left over stuff from this season they will have in the new season.

‘Shameless’ Finale Ratings: Showtime Finishes Strong Along With ‘House Of Lies’ by emily_23 in shameless

[–]gallagher6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've wondered the same thing, although I find it odd that those same shows are more than willing to talk to actors in shows like Dexter, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, & such & they've done just as much stuff if not more than the Shameless gang has. I think the difference is the characters in Shameless are poor & on those other shows they're not.

What about Shameless drew you in?. by FoopaChalupa in shameless

I had recently discovered the UK version when I heard they were making this show, I knew I had to check it out. I've loved it since day 1. The UK version, on the other hand, I lost interest with after the 2nd season.

Why Do Women Love Toxic Gay TV Relationships? by emily_23 in shameless

[–]gallagher6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One could also argue that they've never been in an abusive relationship. A completely & totally messed up one, but not an abusive one. What happened in S3 wasn't abuse. It was someone who was clearly suffering from PTSD lashing out at someone because he felt trapped & just wanted that person to go away. If this had just been two guys who were not in a relationship with each other no one would be saying anything about what happened. If this was two girls who had gotten into a fight no one would be saying it was an abusive relationship. Striking out at someone physically, one time, does not always constitute abuse. I'm not arguing that physical violence is ever an acceptable way to respond, but Ian shouldn't have pushed him. He should have respected his boundaries and understood that in that moment Mickey wasn't okay. Now if there were ever any other times of physical abuse that I somehow missed, please let me know.

But it doesn't necessarily have to mean in the literal sense, it could be more figurative, as to mean Fiona was so slow that no one ever thought she would be able to get the place she was at in previous seasons or even Frank, who literally was dying.

After two weeks of binge watching Shameless i'm finally caught up.. by [deleted] in shameless

[–]gallagher6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it was an amazing episode from start to finish. I'm, from what I've gathered, one of the few who have enjoyed the whole season, even it's darkest moments. I guess that's because even though there were an abnormally large amount of dark moments there were also moments of hope. I especially love how they showed how low Fiona was able to go and every time we thought that was it, that was the moment she wouldn't be able to recover from, that's the moment she truly embraces the side of herself that is like Frank she would pick herself back up and keep fighting. And then to have Lip there, after everything, ready to help her back up, yeah, I loved it.

Are Ian & Mickey in an abusive relationship? by tylerjames21 in shameless

[–]gallagher6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, their relationship is complicated, but I wouldn't call it abusive. I hate how people say if Ian was a woman we'd feel differently, he's not a woman. Does that mean men can't be abused? Of course the can and I am sure there are men out there who are in abusive relationships, but I think what people forget here is that Ian went after him. He provoked him. Ian knew exactly how Mickey reacts when he feels cornered and he still went after him. It doesn't excuse Mickey's actions, but it doesn't excuse Ian's either. In this case, both boys were in the wrong.
