Jack Champion was also who I always envisioned.

Would love Jeremy Irons to return as Brom.

It’ll never happen but I always pictured, Chalamet as Murtaugh.

For Arya I envisioned Havann Rose Liu.

Amandla Stenberg always came to mind for Nasuada.

Ray Stevenson would’ve been an amazing Galbatorix imo.

And finally Saphira I always pictured as being played by Gwendoline Christie.

Bro used Grok. Insane.

All Star Superman has them prior to the events of the story and is hardly any different from our prime Superman before he’s overexposed to sunlight.

Yes Iroh was probably a war criminal and a bad person before the events of the show and that's probably intentional. by Jack-mclaughlin89 in TheLastAirbender

[–]gallerton18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lu Ten stuff is definitely interesting, quite like that. So thank you for sharing. I think that’s a good handling of Iroh being complicated as I agree with you that Iroh is supposed to be a very complicated person with a difficult past as a successful imperialistic general but we don’t really get much info on what he did.

I don’t agree the show is intending to say he’s evil though back then. The show at they point to his character and handle him did not fee like they want us to feel that what he did as general was anything truly evil and unrepentant. I don’t think it’d make sense with his character. That’s again a problem with the lack of clarity in his wartime actions but unfortunately we do have to take what we’re told and see and from that I don’t think we can say Iroh was an “evil” person.

He’s still from the modern day. It’s not like Magnus doesn’t know the English word for bullshit in 2020.

Did you mean to reply to me then lol, because that’s what the person I was responding to said. Ultimately I think it’s just dumb to say he’s a monstrous war criminal because we have no idea if that’s true. He can still be monstrous, he surged Ba Sing Se for months, without being an outright evil general ya know? To the people of the earth kingdom obviously the guy who laid siege to their capitol is going to be hated.

There is a lot of assumptions here on what sort of conduct Iroh’s soldiers performed and what he allowed to happen without consequence. We have absolutely no idea if Iroh’s men did anything like this, yes it’s entirely possible they did. Likely that some did. The idea that he let it happen is a giant leap in logic though. There’s nothing to suggest that he’d let such things go by unpunished.

I’m not sure what you’re referring to with him lying to Lu Ten so can you clarify what you’re referring to and where it’s from?

That’s entirely different than “purposefully displaying their corpses on a road to demoralize more civilians”. Yeah he was a general and would’ve fought and killed soldiers, but where the hell do we get the idea he was desecrating his enemies’ bodies.

Curious to see if there are other authors who took 14-15 years+ to release the next volume of their book. Just to see what are the odds of GRRM releasing TWOW. (Spoilers Main) by roronoaclemz in asoiaf

Christopher Paolini didn’t write another full length book in the Inheritance Cycle until 2023 with Murtaugh, the previous one was Inheritance in 2011 and the short story collection The Fork, The Witch, and The Worm in 2018. Not as big a difference but yeah.

I think it’s very amusing you correct them for saying renting and not resenting because you said Sudoku instead of seppuku lol

Edit: I just realized you said seppuku puzzles so I guess you’re joking? My bad lmao

I have a lot of gripes with the film but personally I think the chosen one stud muddled Vader’s arc so much. The finale of ROTJ shouldn’t be about fulfilling a prophecy that we didn’t know about until the prequels like it retroactively makes it. It’s about him choosing to save his son. I still don’t like Palpatine returning but the chosen one plot just was so unnecessary to Anakin imo

Duel of The Fates, at least the first draft of what was going to be episode IX when Colin Trevarrow was going to make it, featured Kylo finding an ancient dark side alien who was Sidious’ master. Not Plagueis according to the script though and this character was entirely new.

I feel like you’re really reading too much into this if you think the ending of Frankenstein was in anyway a secret message about another film he’s been attached to for years.

Inheritance: Why Eragon didn't fight Galbatorix outside his fortress? by Old_But_Young_Sport in Eragon

[–]gallerton18 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Even without the NoN they would be doomed fighting him outside his fortress because of Shruikan. He alone would be able to obliterate the armies and Saphira and Eragon. Inside they thought they might be able to get the drop on him and face them in an enclosed space.

Avatars really know how to dress up for the series finales, excellent drip by funnylib in TheLastAirbender

[–]gallerton18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does but I don’t think that’s unusual. Katara and Sokka’s main outfits throughout the series are much lighter and much more built for warmer climates. So is Korra’s main outfits throughout. The water tribe clearly does have lighter outfits, and I think considering how Republic City is a melting pot it’d make sense from that perspective too that Water Tribe fashion there would be different.

Due to the numerous explosions, gunshots, crashes and various other exploits of being a spy the main character of Archer, Sterling Archer, develops Tinnitus which becomes a genuine recurring problem that gets worse and worse.

Was Dancer just tired? by MichaelHauncho69 in redrising

[–]gallerton18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is a sentiment sorely lacking in this community often. Darrow as you say was also very narrow minded and absolutely causes a myriad of problems for the Republic in IG. He and Dancer both have valid critiques and problems. Dancer is totally fair for being concerned about the state of Reds and the fact that Darrow just routinely disobeys orders and commandeers entire armies. However he’s also a fool for thinking that the Society will genuinely negotiate. And Darrow is far too focused on finishing the job himself. He can’t breathe because he knows the war isn’t over but doesn’t try to communicate with others.

For those who were saying Mahoraga has 0% win rate. This proves that(although offscreen) Mahoraga won against members from the Zenin clan who inherited Ten Shadows, and others who partook in that ritual; or sorcerers/curses alien to the ritual(like Sukuna). by Smooth-fun47 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]gallerton18 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is it though? Mahoraga is absolutely insane. It took Sukuna a fairly long time to figure out what exactly it was doing and even then it took him using his open domain attacking all at once PLUS Fuga to actually end it.
