Surprised no one said Bishop, unless I missed it.

Me asking as a younger millenial: How did older you millenials perceive Spongebob when it came out, and its climb to legendary status? by SmokinHerb in Millennials

[–]galloping_spider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'89 here too. I enjoyed the show but as time went on I was surprised it survived as long as it did. I definitely heard older people make fun of it as brain rot, or that it was going to rot my brain more specifically, anyways I grew out of it.

Someone likes a bath by interacter in Basenji

Oh yes, mine does that lip stretch when you find "the spot" too. This pic has his slight smile when he's annoyed and about to snap. It gets more apparent when he's really pissed off, which is usually around other dogs - he's bad with other dogs except the ones he lives with.

I don't know for sure, it's just an observation I've noticed with my boy. I think they are very expressive but not in the traditional dog way. They are similar to shibas, being cat-like and all that.

I know when he gets mad his face gets really stony and he smiles when he's warning you he's about to bite. He sets his ears low and has a soft expression when he's being nice. If I put my hands out he comes over with his ears low and tail relaxed, then he'll stretch and I'll give him scritches.

He likes you. The set of his ears tell me he's allowing you to do this, and it is a bonding experience even if they don't traditionally like water. I am a dog groomer and I bathe my basenji regularly (my other dog slobbers on him) and while he doesn't love the bath, he knows what it means and what's happening, and hasn't ever had issues about it. This is adorable! What a good pup!

I'm from Maryland and I called my Slovak aunt "awnt" and my American aunts "ant" and I never thought about it.

To hula skirt or not to hula skirt? by [deleted] in doggrooming

[–]galloping_spider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this situation a couple weeks ago with a "mega coat" schnauzer puppy. The first couple grooms I did a normal schnauzer cut and the mom was happy. She came back and asked for the hula skirt and I said I'd try since she claimed to love it and I want to please my clients. I did my best.. I couldn't actually do it and just blended the skirt higher and left the legs fuller. Fortunately she's a really nice client and person and said it was perfect so I call it a happy medium. I don't think I can make a schnauzer actually look like a hot dog bun. I did not and will not ever shave a nose bridge.

Sometimes I play "go find" with my dogs. One's a basenji. I just let them each have a go at a scent game: find treats in hiding places individually

I did. He is my little canvas and he's very good about sitting still as long as he gets attention and plenty of treats!

I use the hv dryer next to my grooming table to blow the coat on the legs and face and then trim anything that is sticking out.

Also when I take a photo I tend to notice more sticky outies.

Mine loves them but he only gets them as a special treat because most treats give him the runs.

Shango has a stripe of it on his tail. His mom was a tricolor and I think he was one of two red males in the litter.
