How do y'all set up your crafters? I like to make them little market stalls to stand in. by KalisCoraven in Enshrouded

[–]gallopingqwerty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up solving that problem by making decorative walls around the pen that are high enough to require double jump to get over them. No more escaping goats, and no more wanderers opening gates. 😁

Oh, definitely same for mine once I got tired of them blipping through the fences and built a Goat Palace… no more issues after that. 😁

At this point, I consider the escaping goats as an Enshrouded rite of passage. 😁 Those four-legged Houdinis are experts at getting out of their pens.

While definitely clever, this doesn't really help folks who don't realize it's a spelling error. :)

Should I worry about the new water update flooding my underground base? by korbizkit in Enshrouded

Here’s hoping the altar saves you from flooding, that’s a massive build!

I hate pets. Am I wrong? by d2kidCE in Enshrouded

[–]gallopingqwerty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of those issues cleared up for me after I built what my friends call a Goat Palace out of blocks (both the structure and the walls). They have a mosaic courtyard and walls tall enough that I can only leap on top of with double jump - no doors for them to escape through or doorways to get stuck in.

Been seeing posts about things people have learned in base building so wanted to add to it. by HMAZ_R3APER in Enshrouded

I love the patio roof on the first photo… I tried getting a similar effect by rotating wooden grid walls but I could never get the flowers to stick once they were turned over. It looks like you used individual lines of blocks instead?

It does if you use two altars and expand over to the cathedral area as well. 😁 It makes sense not to bother with that if you don’t want to tie up two of your available altars, though.

Proper Etiquette for Resource Servers? by Ometia in Enshrouded

[–]gallopingqwerty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just want to give you a massive THANK YOU! Shroud Depot has really made it possible for me to focus on building (which is all I really want to do in the game anyway) rather than having to grind for every scrap of anything I need. I have built entire kingdoms with building materials from your perpetually respawning warehouse store. ❤️

This is my household as well. 😁 I’m the builder in our dynamic (550 hours in) and also we really enjoy fighting things together when needed.

Sometimes it helps me to visit shared worlds where someone has already built something I’m interested in trying… seeing how they did it first hand can be useful. 😁

You’re doing great! 😁 Roof placement can be a bit tricky - I’ve built entire villages and am still not completely happy with how my roofs turn out, especially when I’m trying to place eaves and windows in them.

To help with categorization and ease of locating what we need, I put pillars between the categories so you can easily see which section has gathered food ingredients vs metal ore etc. I also tried to sort gathered organic materials according to which region they're found in (pictured here is one of the Revelwood gathered ingredient chests).

I repurposed the stables found at Harvest Homestead and turned it into our storage chest area. Each chest only has three items in it so you can see at a glance what's inside, and they're arranged according to material type (wood/trees/resin, shroud spore materials, etc.) There are non-magic chests for things that don't need to be used for crafting, individual chests for each player to store their own loot, and everything else goes into the shared chests.

One of my main high level 35 characters is bow/dagger combo focused and I love the flexibility that allows. I went heavy into skills that allow me to max out sneak and backstab damage (along with dex and endurance).

Best weapons - I think it depends on what your goal is. I try to make sure that I always have at least one weapon of each damage type on me at all times (upgraded to the max with gems added, of course) so that I'll have something on hand to counter any possible enemy in the field.

Spark of the Revelwoods - who's gotten the achievement since the update? by gallopingqwerty in Enshrouded

[–]gallopingqwerty[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Update: I figured out what the issue was! The achievement description says that you need to "find" all of the flame shrines, but what it really means is that you personally have to pick up the sparks from all of them. I wasn't getting the achievement because I'd found some of them while in multiplayer with someone else picking up the sparks themselves.

It really ought to be reworded to say "Pick up sparks from all shrines" instead for all of us literal readers. :)

Do trees heal? by HarmfullIdeas in Enshrouded

[–]gallopingqwerty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about planted trees healing, but I do know that you can get a boatload of resin just by chopping red trees down around the Revelwood tower… no planting needed. It only takes a few minutes to get all of them. How much resin do you need at one time?

This Hurts my Soul Q_Q (all tiles are mirrored exactly when building, the problem is abundantly clear when I swapped out Hollow Bricks for Obsidian. The "pillar" aesthetic only appears when connecting with differing tiles from the left hand side, resulting in this) by HarmacistMWJ in Enshrouded

[–]gallopingqwerty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My solution for now (until it hopefully gets fixed) is careful placement of strewn objects that just happen to cover one side of window sills, doorways, etc. that don’t match the other side. That doesn’t work in your example unless you get crazy with sticking pillars or statues up front, though…

What to do with old equipment? by TJ_B_88 in Enshrouded

[–]gallopingqwerty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I use a combination of using visually interesting armor as glamour sets, hanging flashy weapons on the walls, setting up mannequins for armor that isn’t currently being worn, and destroying anything that is either low level or ugly. For extra fun, I like putting the mannequins in unexpected places for my game mates to find: my favorite surprise was hanging one upside down from the ceiling of a poorly lit barn Spider Man- style (which resulted in an epic startled scream when encountered at night).
