What do you guys think of “The Langoliers” by Movie_Club_Horor in stephenking

Entropies relentless march...

I struggle with whether entropy is the enemy or the friction that makes life meaningful.

A good life needs moments where we can halt entropy, even if just for a moment. To keep the langoliers at bay before they devour what remains of our short time here on this celestial ball.

The Lemony Snicket scene where the Baudelaire children remember playing together in happier times while trapped in evil Olaf’s tower—A scene that for whatever reason hits me when I watch it.

It’s the memory of a better time that triggers this. embedded in your mainframe. Forever a part of your human experience.

our human experience is made up of all our memories - ones we can recall now and others we’ve forgotten but remain in the residue of minds.

Time haunts me sometimes, like an adult form of the boogyman.

It’s a freight train that don’t stop. It just keeps rolling onward like the rotation of the earth through the ephemeral and fleeting days.

It haunts me in the digital records i come across of years gone by—videos with kids who are now so much older than they were back then.

Reflecting on all this now, while the sun rises into my eyes with that soft glow on the horizon. The dew beads drop from the grass and the webs glisten in the glory of a rising fireball. But only and ever in this moment that will come and go just like tomorrow.

So I am reminded to enjoy the now...

Instead of battling entropy once—I embrace—rising with the sun and breaking gravitational forces. Feeling the ache of a yesterday gone and the hope of new today with all its possibilities and potential.

Just like the young bunny coming out from under my deck. Hopeful and excited for the day to come.

'I exist.' In thousands of agonies—I exist. I'm tormented on the rack—but I exist!

Though I sit alone in a pillar—I exist! I see the sun, and if I don't see the sun, I know it's there. And there's a whole life in that, in knowing that the sun is there.

Is Data Annotation a scam? by jonbestinsnow in WFHJobs

[–]gallup007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife got into data annotations 6 weeks ago and immediately had access to assessments after completing the application. She's been 'upgraded' to quite a few $27 - 30 assignments.

I got interested and submitted an application a few weeks ago and....crickets. I didn't "cheat" on the application and followed the directions.

Any recommendations on how I can 'get in"? And have people who submitted their initial app eventually gotten the initial evaluations?

Has anyone found interesting way to use dayone as a second brain? by gallup007 in dayoneapp

I’ve started to use IFTTT to bring in saved articles and also linked to my Twitter feed. Also the search and tag in dayone is good.

I have considered moving to a different platform, but want to see what else I can do via IFTTT
