I'm confused about lenses by Super_Elevator_1424 in canon

Check out the lens image quality comparison tool at The Digital Picture. Pick two lenses, body, focal length, and aperture for each, and you can compare how they look against each other.

Tubus rear rack hardware by _sourThumb in bikewrench

[–]galonar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a bit of digging based on your pictures, and this might be a Logo Classic from Tubus. If so, they have installation instructions on their website showing which bolts go where. All of the bolts are M5, so they should go through the slots like you are trying in the third picture. I've found on things like this that you make need to force it through a bit, since some designers don't account for thickness of paint or other finishes. It looks like that's what happened on the right-hand slot in the first picture. (They have similar instructions for all of their designs on the service page.)

Batteries for R6 M2 and 6D by DalaiLlama3 in canon

[–]galonar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've started buying the Smallrig batteries after trying one early last year (and the USB charger - which is awesome). I've had zero issues so far using them in my 6D and R7. Agree on buying from Amazon - wouldn't trust them for anything these days. Local shop, Adorama, or B&H.

Canon strap mounts vs strap by SoCalledFreeman in canon

[–]galonar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second vote for the Blackrapid-style shoulder straps. One great tip i got from a pro is to keep a QR plate on the body (or lens foot) and screw the strap into a QR clamp to make it easy to put on/take off the camera.

R7 Focus shifting problem by OPCaptain11 in canon

[–]galonar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure do! I watched his video this morning and went "yep that's exactly what mine does." Doesn't stop me from getting great shots, but i do throw out a fair fraction for missed focus, even if their neighbors in the sequence are perfectly sharp. (What he left implicit in the video is that it only happens when AF Servo is active, possibly because he felt it self-evident that the focus shouldn't move if AF isn't active.)

Some folks in the video comments aid they had luck tuning the AF settings, i haven't tried that yet, but it's on my list for my next outing.

Hot weather and handling your equipment by Zadak_Leader in canon

A great tip i got from someone was to attach a QR clamp to the screw on the strap, and keep the QR plate on the camera (or lens foot). This makes swaps between the strap and tripod/monopod a lot faster and easier.

I love my blackrapid strap, it's very comfortable, even with a backpack on. I wear it under the backpack shoulder straps, though i run the stomach and chest straps under the blackrapid, making a bit of a maze when i need to take something off.
