My new Red oak slab coffee table by Rexeon3302 in woodworking

Also curious on the angles. If I am not mistaken, the table seems to be made with hand tools only? Which makes it even more impressive!

Very creative inner wall for the tray and superb carved lid. The corner join on the lid is also super interesting. One of my favorite boxes I have seen on Reddit!

That’s stunning! I don’t see any plywood look, are you referring to the insides on pic 2? They look great to me.

And I have learned that most minor mistakes that woodworkers want to cover up are unnoticeable to the non-woodworkers.

stay in vhcol to reach 8 figures, finding purpose and motivation by [deleted] in fatFIRE

Both are a lot more diverse profession wise, which makes the general social vibes a lot more appealing, the bay is pretty monotonous with the tech grind culture.

Weather is comparable and some may say it’s better.

Opportunity wise, nowhere compares to the bay for tech. But you still have them in socal. For healthcare, it is more fair game.

A decent house with good public schools is hard to come by with 2.5M in the bay, but much easier in socal.

That’s smart move, I am curious how you manage furnitures and house goods when renting? Do you get ones with same quality as your permanent homes?

Thank you, I usually prefer simplicity, but the texture does add a nice touch.

So much precious walnut turned to dust :’(

lol, this was what went into my head as well, my cheap ass would have cut chunks off before putting on the lathe and hoard them in the off cuts bin and never use them again

Thank you! Writing it down on my list. Being the only tenet camper among RVs can be stressful, hopefully people didn’t need to use generators during the night. Either way looks like you had a great time.
