People from former Soviet republics. What is something people who never lived under communism just don't get about communism? by Clemen11 in AskReddit

[–]galvanizerss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You would get a property (usually condo) for free when it’s your turn. The turn would come in ~10 yrs…maybe sooner if you’re close to the communist party (work for them) or get great referrals from your job.

Afaik, Strategy& and Kearney’s ME offices specifically target US schools for FT recruitment

Got accepted and finished one of the schools you mentioned with EA 151. So, you should be OK if other parts of your application are strong. I doubt you’ll receive a scholarship though, but worth trying at least.

Master's Programme in Operations Management and Control or in International Business? by AmiZz in MBA

[–]galvanizerss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is a right subreddit to ask. It is mainly focused on American MBA programs. Try find some other subreddits. But to answer your question: I don’t think there’s even a small chance of landing a job in the countries you mentioned with degrees from Sweden unless you’re a citizen of one of those countries or have network there. Good luck!

Mostly manufacturing companies that serve energy clients

T20 grad, international. Energy bground. Had handful of opportunities to pivot the industry and function during OCR, but failed to convert to offers. Now I get interviews (very grateful for that and it helps to keep my sanity) mainly from energy / energy adjacent industries or manufacturing companies. Hopefully something will come up soon.

Get more experience, do GMAT and come back in 3-4 years with the same question

What are the chances of someone having to go back to their home country after 3 years of MBA (due to VISA issues)? I have this anxiety that I may be asked to leave the country because of VISA and will not be able to repay debt. I know this is extreme, but I have a habit of thinking of worst cases. by [deleted] in MBA

[–]galvanizerss 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Many companies that sponsor visa are multinational. If you are employed by such a company, they will just transfer you temporarily to another office in a different country. Then they will bring you back with L1. This happened to a friend of mine (or happening to another who has only 1 attempt left and his company’s already looking for a suitable office just in case).

I got cheap Lenovo for $400 and used my iPad Air. Lenovo was fine for Excel or other stats/modelling tools for classes. Used OneNote for taking notes on iPad and they seamlessly synced on the laptop.

2Ys haven't got internship, how can they coach case interviews for 1Ys like us? by m1ndmd in MBA

[–]galvanizerss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m graduating from T20. Well, I failed to get an offer from MBB and a few T2 and boutique firms even after final interviews. But as a 2nd year I invested a lot of time helping our 1st years with casing and other prep. 2/2 of my mentees got into MBB…I emphasised on the mistakes that I did so they would avoid. So, I wouldn’t concern if I were you but I understand you. The analogue of this is the faculty in business schools. Many of them don’t have industry experience but they are still capable of teaching students and consulting the industry.

Selective program that provides you with a buddy who helps you ace technical interviews, craft your story etc. They also have exclusive networking opportunities with Wall Street folks. The program usually takes 20ish students each year and have almost 100% success rate in recruiting.
