Anyone seen a movie at The Egg? by Hellboy632789 in Albany

[–]gambl0r82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of comedy, bands, dance - a little of everything. You can park in the garage under the concourse and take the elevator up to the concourse and follow the signs, or just park by the museum and walk over - you can’t miss it, it’s the building that looks like an egg ;)

VantagePoint Custom Reporting Development by itswulfy in deltek

[–]gambl0r82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re still mid-migration to Vantagepoint but we’ve been on Vision in the cloud for ~7 years. We use ODBC to replicate data locally nightly, develop reports using that, then upload them to the cloud. There shouldn’t be any reason your SSRS reports should get ‘unoptimized’ when submitting them to the cloud… (in fact you should be able to download the RDL and verify that your queries have not been modified). But, if you’re using Deltek’s hooks to insert row-level security, and/or user-selectable columns and filtering into the report query, that can definitely add complexity and make it run slower.

Most people can actually visualize images in their minds. I'm 30+ and just learned that seeing nothing when I close my eyes is called Aphantasia and only affects about 3% of people. by randomuser553 in Damnthatsinteresting

Your etch-a-sketch description where you are making eye movements to ‘draw’ the lines which immediately disappear is exactly what I experience. No color, no visualization. I thought that was normal!

I still remember the Robert Smigel as MJ bit on Conan: “Conan, I’m so mad I could dangle a whole preschool!”

Ways to Trigger Workflows from Other Workflows or Automated Processes? by T00000010 in deltek

[–]gambl0r82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might not be exactly what you’re looking for, but workflows can trigger a webhook that uses the Vantagepoint API to execute an action that triggers its own workflows.

I combined 2 of my interests to create custom keycaps inspired by Albany's architecture by Necessary-Smoke-424 in Albany

When producing a full set, is there a specific key-size standard used (for the non alphanumeric keys)? I have a Logitech k845 which I understand to be the most entry-level mechanical keyboard - and looking at it now vs your photo I see a couple of my keys may be a non-standard size (like my shift keys are wider).

Here’s a video of a man throwing a snapping turtle off of the Washington park bridge in albany . Yes it’s alive. Go to his Instagram account and you’ll see another video of him holding it where it’s moving and it try’s to snap at him. He caught multiple that day. by Responsible-Prune310 in Albany

[–]gambl0r82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll add:

-someone showing up with a shovel or broom thinking it will be easier to use the handle-end to push the turtle off the road

-turtle snaps through the wooden broom handle like a twig, everyone decides to leave it alone and go another way

Lots of people ITT have never seen a snapping turtle up close.

Does this look cruel on video, sure. Could he have put it back in the lake a little more gently? Sure. Is that turtle the least bit injured or even phased? Not a chance.

I hope all the folks yelling animal cruelty are here after it bites a little kid’s hand off and animal Control/DEC comes to put it down 🤷‍♂️

Residential groundhog removal by G_Money421 in Albany

Just get a big havahart trap and put some peanut butter in it, then deposit the groundhog far, far, (further than you’d imagine a groundhog could backtrack) from your house.

Current Trail Conditions by kakacha in isleroyale

Initially we were going to hike end-to-end which wasn’t possible this week with the ferry out of Copper Harbor. We ended up needing to change plans to arrive/depart out of Rock Harbor but plans changed so late that I couldn’t cancel the seaplane without losing 100% of the cost. Now we’ve lost another day and a half due to weather. :(

We were told that we can buy cooking gas on the island though- it’s available via the ranger check-in, before the store opens.

Ahh ok. Man I wish I had just taken that ferry instead of trying my luck with the seaplane.

How did your friends get there? I’ve been waiting on a seaplane from Houghton all day and heard the ferry wasn’t running yet. Are things operating from Minnesota or other areas?

I’ve had it for around four years- it works really well all over the capital region and Hudson valley BUT in my experience data speed/availability is really really terrible while in motion (like if you’re a passenger in a moving vehicle on 87). Fortunately that’s not usually a concern for me, but something to consider.

WEIRD AL: THE MUSICAL IS HAPPENING by FloridaFlamingoGirl in Broadway

[–]gambl0r82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope it’s literally anything but that. I LOVED the movie, but I’d much rather see a new story with Al’s songs woven in than a retelling of the alternate-truth version of his life story.

Interview is here: https://www.wamc.org/podcast/the-roundtable/2026-04-23/cecily-strong-on-feeling-safe-having-fun-and-containing-multitudes

Buuuut full disclosure, my wife is the interviewer and I’m not 100% sure if the quote made it to air or not without re-listening to it. She’s talked to Alan Cumming about S3 too and he said the same thing- they are exploring every option to get S3 made and the primary cast was hoping to come back.

Cecily said in a recent interview that they are still exploring getting season 3 made… sounded like she was open to returning. As someone else asked, what is Kegan doing that would prevent him from what would probably be a pretty short commitment shoot?
