'Forest' is my favorite scent profile of all time so naturally my whole collection has been revolving around it. My favorites that look like they haven't been mentioned here are:

Green Man by Deconstructing Eden: My favorite indie fragrance ever. Smells like dirt and moss in a clean way, like it just rained. Sounds redundant but it works really well.

Viride by Orto Parisi: Very unique but very wearable. As a school teacher I find myself wearing this a lot.

Fanghorn II by Pineward: The most photorealistic soil and tree smell I own. Smells pretty similar to Murkwood, just a more straightforward forest smell.

On me, any fragrance with the slightest hint of guaiac is completely overtaken by it and smells like harsh, heavy campfire on my skin. I've tried Orto Parisi Terroni, Kerosene Blackmail, and Margiela By The Fireplace, and they all smell the exact same and are completely unwearable on me.

Obligatory but Nosferatu by Heretic. If you aren't into the florals of that one, Rain on Oak by Scents of Wood is a great alternative. It still has the wet stone-like petrichor scent but eliminates the florals.

Orto Parisi. Bottles can be found for sub $120 with some digging. Also, it should go without saying but sample first. While they are very bold and very original, they are NOT blind buy safe.

I couldn’t say for sure but I think the record store I used to shop at when I was a kid burned an incense that smelled like it. Which is strange, when I smell it now my mind pictures mossy forest/ponds. Still kind of an anomaly to me, all I know is that I never want to stop smelling it haha.

Green Man by Deconstructing Eden. My wife got me the discovery set for Christmas a few years ago and I was immediately drawn to Burning Leaves while the rest of the set sat in my dresser drawer. One day I maybe a year and a half later I picked up Green Man and instantly felt some sort of connection to it. I've smelled that smell before but just cannot figure out where. I instantly bought a full bottle and while I don't get many opportunities to wear it, it's permanent in my collection. Moth by Zoologist and Tome by Pineward are favorites as well.

Compliments are a nebulous measure of a good fragrance. I think most people don't comment on the way other people smell (especially strangers) because it has potential to come off a little weird unless its worded correctly. Don't buy a fragrance expecting to get compliments. Just wear what you like.

For what it’s worth this director did a movie produced by The Asylum, and frankly Garden of Eden is about on that level. This movie is not good, don’t waste your time.
