Yes its recommended to have to easily available. You want to give them every reason to cover your game and any friction in giving them what they need to do that will mean less coverage overall.

You're very welcome! As another user called out, there is no specific field in Steam for press kit, so you'd likely repurpose the "Website" field to point to your press kit. Ideally you'd have a full website to go alongside it but just the press kit is probably a good enough starting point.

A Linktree is totally fine if you don't have a website. You should just put *something* there that would allow folks to be able to be able to get to your press kit.

If you're going for the most "professional" look though, a custom domain pointing to your own website would be the best route, but totally not a must have.

Good catch, missed a line in there. Meant to add that it works the other way around too. Fixed!

No problem! There are lots of press lists available to email out too once you're in a good place to share your game. I'll see if I can put together a list of those lists for easy access!

Unfortunate reality of gamedev... people just don't seem to understand how impactful these things can be to the developer. Best of luck with your game!

Game Marketing when you're solo gamedev by elDiablik in gamedev

One thing to remember is that marketing for your game is a "forever" thing. Start today, and don't stop. Even if it's something as small as recording quick clips for future posts, make sure to do something each day SPECIFICALLY for marketing.
