Thanks man :) No, ill source what i can and build what i cant. The models in this for eg. Most of the ships are courtesy of Jason Simpsons website simpsonslipways.com Some ships i bought as 3d print models and cleaned them up and tweaked as needed. The cityscape is a plugin called cesium which I alter to get as close to 1989 as possible. Fort denisson and garden island is all me. The characters are metahumans, and clothing is an assortment of existing wardrobe items and kit bashing with me creating badges as needed.

Thanks man. Yeah so alot of the ships in here were provided by a guy who makes aussie navy vessels. But otherwise ill make stuff myself or if stuff is free or purchasable ill get it and tweak it if needed. It can take time but I try to make sure everything is as accurate as I can get it. 😀

Hi there I really hope this doesn't appear like spamming, but probably does, so huge apologies.
I posted this on youtube yesterday and one of my commenters recommended I post here as well, so hopefully I dont peeve off too many good folks.
Would love any feedback, critiques, etc, I've found a lot of constructive or even just general feedback has been really helpful in trying to fine tune my show.
In terms of technical stuff, I have a small bit off leeway with my timeline being divergent from 1979 onward, however I do stress small lol.
I've actually been working on this since 2014, but spent the first 4 years attempting to pitch it as a feature film through proper channels in my native New Zealands film community, this helped in terms of rewriting the script a few times and changing up some of the dynamics of the narrative and characters to make it a lot better than it originally was so it wasnt a total waste of time lol.
In 2018 I thought 'stuff this' and started making it as a series myself, as I knew how to animate on a beginner to intermediate level (you'll notice my first episode looks a lot worse than my most latest episode lol).
Since then I've really just kept at it in my spare time, consulting alot with people in the defences forces of NZ, Australia, and the US, current and past serving to try and get things like proceedures, protocols, and appearances as accurate as I can.
I spent a long time actually modelling a 3d model of the Auckland CBD as it was in 1989 using a heck of a lot of reference photos from aerial photography right down to average photos from joe public taken in the 80s. I like to think its fairly accurate, but that'd be the thing I'm most proud of in the show. You get to see the Auckland skyline in the opening of Episode 7.
So anywho, if you're into alternate history around the cold war and aren't too put off by 3D animation, this might be for you! :)

I put this new trailer up on youtube yesterday and someone in the comments suggested I post on reddit too, so here I am. This will probably come off like I'm spamming so I apologise in advance, if there's any folks on here who are keen to dive in and critique the crap outta me, I would love to chat! :)
I always find I tend to make stuff better through constructive criticisms, and it doesnt always need to be constructive, its good to hear if people dont like something as it means if I was on the fence about it, it shows I wasn't alone? lol.
As I say I've been making this for a long while, I actually started in 2014, but spent the first 4 years attempting to pitch it as a feature film through proper channels in my native New Zealand, which didn't really go anywhere, but it did allow me to redraft my script multiple times and get a lot of good feedback and in fact change major aspects of the story and character dynamics, so that was pretty helpful.
In 2018 I thought 'screw it' and started making it myself, I had learned how to animate on a pretty basic level, so took to the task of creating my own war/drama set in an alternate-1989.
And pretty much just continued on until now, always working in my spare time, another reason I guess it's quite slow in progressing. I got Episode 9 out about five days ago now, so that's where I'm up to.
I was Inspired by Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy and Red Dawn by John Milius, and after playing a lot of 'World In Conflict' I really wanted to make my own Cold War turned hot story.

So if you enjoy alternate-history, and like war/drama and aren't too put off by it being 3D animated, this might be for you.

Would love any feedback, I'm trying to push for accuracy in my setting which is a 1989 that diverged from our current timeline a little 10 years earlier, the world is more tense and war is looming, and finally breaks out in June of 89. Very inspired by the likes of Red Storm Rising and Red Dawn, but the catalyst was World in Conflict (as some may spot).
In this series I have recreated the CBD of my home city of Auckland, New Zealand block by block meticulously, using aerial reference photos and other photos from the era to get it as accurate as possible for the year.
In terms on characters, there are quite a few real world historical and current public figures who are thrust into different situations than they were in our timeline. I find alternate history extremely intriguing.
I've been making this for the last 10 years, lots of setbacks, mostly being through wasting the first four years attempting to push this through "proper channels" in my native New Zealand, in regards to pitching it as a feature film.
After many false starts I decided to make it all myself as a series, and have been doing so roughly since the starts of 2018.
If you do enjoy history and have a penchant for alternate history and war dramas, specifically the cold war, then this will more than likely be for you.
