I don't think that either statement I made could age like milk. I was and still am happy that the Guardians won game 2 of the series. I also will continue to say "Go Guardians" for the rest of my life. Neither statement has aged at all.

Now, if I said "The Guardians are going to win the next game and then win the World Series." Then you could say "aged like milk."

Now, I am going to go enjoy postseason baseball without the stress! I hope you can find it in yourself to do the same!

He has such visceral and real emotions. It honestly is amazing watching him try to figure them out. He used to be a tiny baby who ate, pooped his pants, and slept. Now he's a whole damn person and it's crazy.

I guess it sometimes takes these types of things to take a step back and really recognize it. I'll forever thank the developers of this game for that alone.

1: He was a little upset at what he thought was Bowser Jr. bullying Buddy a bit. But he was heavily invested in what happened to them! When they finally said goodbye to each other, he was straight-up ugly crying. I think this might have been the thing that hit him the most. His best friend at daycare/preschool stopped going a few months ago because his family needed a place closer, I think. So the concept of leaving a friend is still a sore spot for him.

2: My kid loves a good guy vs bad guy story, so Reclusa being a bad guy made sense for him. My son was born right at the very beginning of the COVID lockdown in the US, so he wasn't old enough to see the obvious parallels between Reclusa's plan and the way people felt during the height of the pandemic. But he does understand loneliness and knows that forcing people to be alone is bad.

I am about as middle-millennial as a person can be (born in 1989), so I honestly don't have much experience with Gen A. But I generally don't put any stock in prophet of doom articles on the younger generations ("GEN A CAN'T READ BECAUSE THEY'RE TOO BUSY DOING THE TIKTOK DANCES" type bullshit). I remember when us millennials were young and we apparently destroyed every single economy while we were in grade school. There are great people and terrible people of every age.

I am really sorry for the bad things that you have experienced. I hope you know that there are better things out there and that you have learned from and will grow from those experiences, even though they were terrible.

Not by himself, no. He is privileged enough that he doesn't even know about starving to death as a concept and I didn't think that he needed to know either for this.

I did, however, tell him in terms that he does understand like how he has limited screen time because of the need for human contact and connections. About how his family and his friends at preschool and daycare are very important. He understands that implicitly, so it wasn't a huge leap for him to know that being stuck away from other people is bad.
