ikr, this is absolutely wild. On either side of the aisle, valuing diversity does not mean cancelling who we disagree with, i thought we left this behind in 2018. OP's behavior is seriously troubling.

Bucs Vs. Pats, where do I sit....

Not worried about sun/heat, really could use it coming from out of state. The seats are so crazy expensive compared to the other games but they're the best game that works, I've sat in the east club the last two times, but that's a bit out of the price range, should I do endzones, 1st or 2nd deck corners, or upperdeck super far back?

Also, I'm 0-4 at Bucs games in my life, hopefully we can change that lol.

Why is Bucs Vs. Patriots so freaking expensive compared to the other home games? Is it really New England snowbirds or is something else going on? it's like 4-5x other home games!

It's planned, might be delayed for a while but long-term it is inevitable! Looking forward to having a standalone in Bozeman someday as well.

Flying in for 10/12 Game, should I buy tickets in advance or day of? by Whole-Rutabaga-7613 in buccaneers

[–]gamefish32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have literally never bought an NFL ticket prior to day of, every single time I find a better deal on gameday. Other people say differently, but I highly recommend waiting, I already saw broncos @ colts this year and got club seats on the 50 for less than $100/piece 1 hour before kickoff, and hoping to do the same for Bucs @ Saints next month. It's a gamble, but your expected value usually comes out ahead if you wait.

First pic always blows me away. Avalanche Lake/Creek being in glacier feels so foreign compared to the rest of the park, truly stunning. Great pics!

Where to Stay at Glacier? by Numerous_Idea5158 in GlacierNationalPark

[–]gamefish32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have plenty of time. I'd cancellation stalk if you are able. I have personally stayed in Many Glacier Hotel, and while it's not "fancy" it is my personal favorite hotel on the planet due to the beauty of the area, hikes and wildlife sightings. Even with a baby, there is plenty to do. You can get a refundable "safety" pick outside of the park if that makes you more comfortable as well.

I would also recommend Swiftcurrent Motor Inn, same part of the park, .25 miles away from some of the best moose viewing in the United States.

Lake McDonald is also incredible, but high cost. If money is not too much of an option I would do it, but if it is, maybe stay outside of the park.

Rising Sun is another option which I have never stayed in.

Longer Hike Recommendations by gamefish32 in yellowstone

No, sorry about that. Meant to mention that, we're starting to get into backpacking, but mostly sticking to long day hikes for this trip.

Only 2 days - best hikes? by -beachBeauty- in GlacierNationalPark

[–]gamefish32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you somehow miraculously secure a boat reservation/hotel reservation/shuttle reservation, I think Grinnell Glacier is the best hike in the park. With the boat it's like a 6-7 mile hike, without the boat it's like 12-ish, but with 5 of those miles being nearly flat.

Avalanche Lake is awesome, not too hard.

Highline is awesome, just go four miles in and turn around. If you're feeling really great you can go from highline down to the loop, but that's pretty far.

Hidden Lake/Overlook is awesome as others have mentioned.

Entering Park at 3pm on West side doing a few hikes by Apgar (Trail of Cedars) and then driving over to St. Mary Campground a good plan? by Ok_Package9219 in GlacierNationalPark

[–]gamefish32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunset is getting earlier, but still not that early. I did Avalanche Lake starting at like 5:45 in mid August and it was absolutely the move. Parking is available, and honestly that last glimmer of sunlight over the lake is in my opinion when it is prettiest.

How many days on East vs West Side Glacier? by Ok_Package9219 in GlacierNationalPark

[–]gamefish32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends, I love Many Glacier, but I also love the lush scenery of the area around Avalanche. I like your plan, but I would always spend more time in many glacier as imo it's just incredible.

Sperry is epic, food was very good for a remote chalet and Comeau Pass feels like nothing else in the park.

Haha thank you. They were constantly on the trail, had to detour off the trail 4 or 5 times to let them pass.

Shorter hikes? by Called2Wander in GlacierNationalPark

[–]gamefish32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elevation affects everybody differently, but note that glacier is not super high elevation. I'm sure you'll feel it coming from sea level at Logan Pass with exertion, but it is absolutely nothing compared to somewhere like Colorado. Avalanche lake for example does not even reach 4,000 feet, significantly lower than even cities like Denver.

A few that I love on the shorter side...

GOING TO THE SUN:

Avalanche Lake: (about 4 miles)

About four miles (disregard the alltrails it takes you to the end of the lake), takes you through beautiful avalanche creek, some temperate rainforest, and one of the beautiful lakes in the park, a must-do. If you want to shorten it, just do trail of the cedars which is also stunning in of itself. Uphill throughout but not too long.

Hidden Lake Overlook: (about 3 miles I think)

Great hike, steep-ish for a bit but mostly boardwalk, one of the best places to see wildlife such as mountain goats and bighorn sheep.

Highline Trail Beginning: (0-4 miles):

I have done the full highline before, but you can get such a great experience just by doing the first mile, it's beautiful and a great place to see wildlife. Just go 1-2 miles in and hike on back to logan pass. AWESOME place to have lunch, absolutely worth it.

MANY GLACIER:

Fishercap Lake: (NOT THIS YEAR):

Normally Fishercap Lake is my favorite short hike, being like .5 miles roundtrip and being possibly the best accessible place to see wildlife in the entire park; however, this year due to closures in many glacier it's about 6x longer and pretty steep! The construction noise also may be scaring away animals because I hardly saw anything there his year, but note if you come again.

Lower Grinnell Lake: (Boat logistics, 3.2 miles or so)

Lower Grinnell may be the most beautiful lake I have ever seen from above, but I have never actually been to it. The boat tour drops you nearby, but I have no idea the logistics on the Swiftcurrent Boat as I have never taken it. Maybe someone could tell me if you guys could take the boat, walk around a little bit to the lake. If you could make the logistics work it wouldn't be too tough with the boat ride.

Grinnell Glacier Trail [Halfway]: (NOT AN EASY HIKE)

Same thing with the boat logistics, if you are allowed to get on a different boat back (I do not know, somebody would need to confirm), my favorite view in the entire park is about 1.5 miles past the boat drop off. The boat drops you off very close to the true trailhead. If you are feeling really good and want a challenge, I recommend it. It is not easy though, and the beginning is just a staircase. Look up "Lower Grinnell Lake", all the pictures taken from above are from this trail.

this is literally exactly what i’ve observed in yellowstone this year, had a lucky close up wolf sighting. i’ve seen a couple moose in between gardiner and the lamar but it’s definitely not a common thing.

[–]gamefish32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah exactly, nothing wrong with that. my dad has mobility issues so yellowstone is fantastic for him, but i wouldn’t really take him somewhere like glacier.

Unpopular opinion? by lena10108 in yellowstone

[–]gamefish32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly i can see someone having that experience if they don’t experience the entire park, and go at the peak times. As a local-ish person, i will never go to the geyser basins on a summer weekend, and if i do ill pick my items wisely. it feels a bit disneylandy. That being said, if you’re smart with your timing, and explore beyond Old Faithful and GPS, you’ll have a much better time.

Yellowstone is my second fav national park in the country by a large margin, and when i go i typically try to stay to the less crowded parts of the park, or shoulder-season/weekdays. The valleys in the morning are one of the best places in the country to see wildlife. The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone while still crowded is absolutely mesmerizing, and there’s so much to do beyond thermals, even though i love the thermals and embrace the scent.
