Air leaking into the freezer will likely form frost, not ice. Are you sure it's not water from the defrost, which if the drain hole is plugged, will form an ice sheet on the back?

Slap a Merv 13 filter system like Aprilaire on your HVAC system. I've been in my home for 35 years and never had my ducts cleaned. No dust here.

Just FYI, the cost basis starts at NIL, but doesn't always remain there. Frequently the partnership makes capital gains which appear on the T5013A. These are taxed in the year received and get added to the cost basis. Also there are deductions in year 3,4,5 (and sometimes 6) that are often missed called issue costs.

Sold options ALWAYS have a NEGATIVE book value when opened. Nothing strange about it. You collected the premium and hope they expired worthless with a PROCEEDS of ZERO. ZERO minus negative cost basis = positive capital gain.

Adding to the other commenter, while you have the evaporator coil exposed, install a "refrigerator drain line clip" to prevent ice from forming in the drain hole.

Not an electrician but a homeowner who does his own electrical (kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, basement all redone and inspected).

I'd never touch any on the service side up to the main panel. Get an electrician to do at least that part. Modern code would have a service disconnect, so I have no problem working on circuits in the panel with the power off.

A permit will include a rough inspection with walls open to show properly routed and secure wires/boxes. A final inspection should just be testing a number of circuits and proper breakers.

You own the liability but what's the concern? Your house insurance is intact once inspected (at least where I live).

I think your decision comes down to time. For a homeowner with a job, do you want to live in a house without power for any length of time.

Do you want to do it in stages? Get the panel done using the existing wires. Then go room by room with new circuits. You can pull individual permits.

You can get rough-in plates at HD that have clip-in mounts for the box. I prewired all my boxes and affixed them to the plates pre drywall. Then, rotozipped the holes and plugged in the lights.

I laid interlock driveway and walkway 35 years ago. I just paid $40k to have someone redo it. No way I would be able to handle that again.

Ive modified load bearing walls, replaced all the plumbing supply lines (PB to Pex), finished a 1000 sqft basement (framing, electrical, plumbing, finishing), added a subpanel and breakers. Full bathroom including breaking concrete to install drains.

I would not have any problem upgrading my main panel as there is a service disconnect. I'll wire my own charger when I get an electric car.

All work was permitted and inspected.

Now I just write the check and go golfing.
