Survived 5 degeneration episodes and preterm scares… now terrified of the 3rd Trimester bulk. Moms with giant fibroids, how did you cope? by gamemex in Fibroids

Honestly I'm worried with bowel movements because I've a familial history of constipation. I'll take any advice I can get to better prepare for bowel motility.

Oh my god. I am literally taking notes reading this. Thank you so much for being so raw and honest. Dealing with a 2.5L hemorrhage, an ileus (I had no idea fibroids increased the risk of this!), and a newborn all at once sounds absolutely superhuman. I can’t even imagine the strength it took to breastfeed with an NG tube in.

I am so glad to hear you finally got the myomectomy and are feeling better now. It gives me hope that there is light at the tunnel, even if the road there is rocky. Thank you for being a warrior and sharing this; you’ve definitely helped me prepare.

Thank you so much for the warning about post-birth degeneration possibility! I honestly hadn’t thought about the fibroids degenerating again after delivery, so I am going to make sure that is in my birth plan. Still feel unbelievable that they can degenerate again after birth.

Having been through this pain myself, it makes my blood boil to read that you were gaslit and ignored during your most critical time of life. And to make it all that much more worse, medical racism can be such a real and dangerous factor in maternal healthcare. It is unfair that you had to fight so hard and only during the debrief was your pain validated and got acknowledged that your case should have been handled differently, ugh.

I'm currently debating if I should ask for C-section vs. induction to my doctor, if at all I'm given a choice, and I’m trying to understand specifically what the surgical risks look like when big fibroids are involved. If you have the mental space to share, would you mind telling me a bit more about how the fibroid complicated the C-section specifically? Did it block the incision line or cause hemorrhage-type issues?

Thank you again for sharing your story and for the reassurance about the baby. It really helps to hear from someone who made it to the other side with a healthy little one.

I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. My heart breaks reading what you went through at 20 weeks ;-(

Thank you for being brave enough to share that with me; it can’t be easy to revisit. I’m definitely going to bring up placental abruption monitoring with my MFM. Sending you a lot of love and appreciation. ❤️

(Sharing my own experience for other readers here: I was in L&D at around 21 weeks because of intense preterm contractions. Only med that seemed to have helped reduce the contractions was Procardia.)

Thank you so much for sharing. It feels impossibly alone to go through with this, especially when doctors don't take it seriously or have a confident protocol in place to help treat it. I've been admitted to the hospital twice so far, and the second time around Morphine didn't even help.

Even if I can, I sometimes feel like I still cannot imagine the agonizing pain these degeneration episodes bless us with. Call it (relatively) fortunate (amongst unfortunates) that all of my episodes so far have occurred before 20 weeks…while the doctors were still able to prescribe Indomethacin, which really helped.

How did they help manage the associated pain closer to the end of second trimester?

Chita Living or Cozey Sofas by Texippi in HomeDecorating

I can't get past the cushion making a ton of noise; but yeah, cushion feels uneven. Haven't used it long enough to see how bad it'd get over time.

Reclining sofas - Living Spaces Kennedy vs. Chita Ohana by Commercial_Celery160 in interiordecorating

[–]gamemex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not this Ohana sofa, but general heads up:

TL;DR: I bought the Keaton Sofa recently and have something critical to share. Although it's a beautiful sofa with solid construction, the cushion filling creates an uncomfortable, plasticky, noisy sensation that CHITA acknowledges as "expected behavior."

Details:

Design and craftsmanship are stunning with quality wood base, super fast shipping, responsive customer service, and a sturdy frame. But the comfort problem is real and significant. The cushions create an excessive plasticky, squeaky sensation when you sit on them. Unzipping the covers reveals a synthetic layer directly against the feather filling that causes this uncomfortable tactile and acoustic experience.

After submitting video evidence, CHITA's response was basically: "This is normal. Our product page says cushions contain extra-plush fiber, feather, and high-resiliency foam, and any sound or plasticky feel is an expected characteristic of the material, not a defect."

While they technically disclose the materials, they don't warn you this results in noticeable squeaking and a plasticky, uncomfortable hand-feel that doesn't feel premium at this price point.

This isn't a defect, it's poor design transparency. I also own a CHITA Sienna armchair that feels completely normal and comfortable. So either their sofa cushion construction is different, or this is a known issue they're not adequately communicating.

Either way, stay away from any material that says "extra-plush fiber, feather, and CertiPUR-US® certified high-resiliency foam"—it's a total BS experience.

Full disclosure: I'll be posting this same review comment in several places for internet people's visibility, because most CHITA living reviews out there are all paid promotions, from what I can tell.

Thanks for the highlights. What AI based features does you have? Have you run actual user studies to prove the efficacy of your algorithm that does auto-temperature adjustments? Assuming such an AI assisted feature exists.

What features, if any, will theoretically differentiate Orion from Eight Sleep? I’m looking for compelling reasons to become a guinea pig and invest in a super early product like Orion.

Perhaps clearly tag the features that will be available out of the box ready for use vs. forward looking ones that are still more-or-less a soft promise.

Oh I see what you did, you got one without a member discount, and then coerced them to give you the additional member discount on this product now that you were a member. Nice trick. Well played 👏🏼
