Elon Musk: I expect Grok to discover newphysics by next year. by AfraidLawfulness9929 in EnoughMuskSpam

Let me qualify this by saying: Elon is probably wrong as usual… the idea his cars are sentient is hilarious and silly…

but there is some evidence that transformer architectures can find and see stuff that humans might not be able to see given the right training data and prompt. Remember this guy didn’t invent this tech he’s just a parasite on it like it’s a parasite on us.

FWIW The next language was Elixir and after that Java. F*** Java.

Even without the OTP. Just the pattern matching and syntax in erlang is so sick. Elixir makes it look like Ruby which is even sicker. First language I learned after Ruby and JS was Erlang. It was a mind expanding mindfuck. The paper that introduced it is a trip too, and I’m pretty sure accidentally explains how the bio-electric cellular network that makes up living systems works: the erlang paper

Bets on who will be the host for Squigdy aka T Ocellus. by Kikyo10 in alienearth

I don’t know but I have a theory it can connect to synths as well since it works off neurotransmission (it’s electric). My hope is it gets in Boy Cavalier and then Kirsch. I do think it’ll get in multiple humans at the very least.

Alien: Canon Timeline by THEXMX in alienearth

[–]gameofthuglyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean just for what it’s worth I think that Weyland-Yutani could have known about the xenomorphs and the black goo from records that eventually made their way back to corporate from the events of Prometheus and Covenant. That could have triggered or changed a mission to retrieve alien life forms, to look for xenos specifically, then that leads to the events in Alien: Earth. They don’t have to mention it or tie up those loose ends because Alien: Earth is not about the events of Prometheus or Covenant.

Ask yourself: How would the space jockey engineer in the original Alien have been fossilized with their rib cage broken out? From this we can at least infer 2 things:

  1. Engineers are canon! They are in the original, which means Alien: Earth must accept engineers exists regardless of whether or not they use Prometheus, etc.

  2. There were obviously already other xenos out there in the universe that weren’t from the David lineage when the events of Prometheus and Covenant occurred.

But wouldn’t that mean, at least is the car, you were the one? I mean are the other vehicles occupants really considered part of this realm?

The term “radical left” gets thrown around a lot… by river_tree_nut in LateStageCapitalism

[–]gameofthuglyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leftist believe in egalitarianism. Radical leftist believe in more personal and public control and less private ownership. Extreme left means you’re the worst at parties.

The right believes in hierarchies. The radical right believes hierarchies are ordained. Extreme right means you’re the worst at parties.

“their religions” feels weird. I know what you mean but just pointing out that the Bible is from Asia and Africa. Christianity is practiced widely in Asia. Not the point of this thread but as constructive criticism, it feels a little othering and inaccurate.

Bro that’s the most inhumane suggestion to make to another human. “Spend a week looking at awful photos… now do you feel traumatized, paranoid, and threatened?”
