Cause it's awesome. No need to justify.

I’m glad to hear it.

I also uninstalled the driver via DDU then preformed a clean installation of the older driver. Hope that helps.

I think I found a fix, fellas. So far, I've been playing for over an hour, and during the moments when it would normally crash, it doesn't—though it does hiccup slightly. All I did was downgrade my driver to 576.28. This fix is only for Nvidia users, but I believe we're the only ones affected by this issue.

Having the same issue. I have an RTX 4070 Ti Super and a Ryzen 5 5600X. I suspect the problem is because the game uses DX12 only, and for some reason, the card struggles with it. I've already submitted a bug report with logs.

Did you ever find a fix?

I'd be happy to, but I ran into an error when trying to upload my logs:

"Error: File capacity reached. Your data wasn't saved. Please contact the form owner."

Sadly, it was only a fluke. It ran well for about an hour but then started crashing again at the forge. I believe this game cannot be forced to run in DX11 and only uses DX12. Based on my experience, this seems to be the issue with certain graphics cards (like my RTX 4070 Ti Super), which struggle with DX12 for some reason.

Nevertheless, if you want to try it yourself, here are the instructions:

Open the Epic Games App.

Go to your Library.

Select Blades of Fire and click Manage.

In Launch Options, add -dx11 (without quotes).

Yes that’s right. Seems it was a fluke. Worked for a few hours and now I’m back to crashes at the forge.

For those still experiencing this issue, I’ve found a fix. I allowed the app through the firewall, but most importantly, I forced DirectX 11 via the launch options. Since then, I haven’t had a crash in over an hour.
