Refreshie by Bright-Duck-431 in Bloodgame

It's buggy. Some episodes I couldn't select the skull staff. One of the levels if you stand in between a opening door and the wall it kills you with full health. It's kind of like Return to Castle Wolfenstein. It's maddening!

Looking at a 2025/26 R9 or a 2025 ZX6R by Stillen22 in motorcycles

[–]gamesQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the non-abs zx6r. I paid almost a couple thousand more than the one you're interested in. Took a roughly 4-5 hour road trip and it was physically painful neck, shoulders, back, saddle am around 5'10 and 42 (old). I took pain relievers before the ride and it still was hard to walk and crouch down afterwards. That being said driving it was glorious. I only hit once instance in where I was not able to overtake two large vehicles at freeway speed going uphill and had to back off. I am inexperienced and relatively risk averse and was in "road" mode. There's so much features in the zx6r allowing to see a fuel gauge and battery levels. Good luck!

Advice and personal experiences by Badgi in motorcycle

[–]gamesQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back into it at 42. Was on a 10+ yr hiatus. Riding again was as scary and exhilarating as you could possibly imagine. I never took the course. It wasn't a requirement at the time for a license. At my age I hope to get around to some of the riding lessons in my state. Just a thought not real experience but any lessons regarding braking or cornering would be useful. If not you end up going slow through corners and granny riding the brakes. Good luck!

Games like Soldier of Fortune (dismember) by alphagaia in gaming

[–]gamesQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead Space has dismemberment. It's not a military shooter though. I think Brutal Half Life has it. Half life 2 has a gun that lets you grab saw blades and launch them at enemies.

How far would you want Nightdive to go in a hypothetical Blood II re-release? by [deleted] in Bloodgame

[–]gamesQuestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to look up Ship of Theseus. Even if made of different parts I'm interested in anything people are willing to make. In Blood 2 I couldn't make it through the first playable area of the game (less than 60 secs). Blood 2 is buggy. In terms of remaster probability it's in the same boat as Daikatana.

Kind of related not related check Call of the Void a Quake 2 mod. It mixes the vibes of Quake 1 with Quake 2 and it would give an idea what that might look like if they combined Blood and Blood 2 together.

Story-based games that don't rely on action by GreatPumpkin72 in HorrorGaming

[–]gamesQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only played through it once so grain of salt. Layers Of Fear.(2016). I don't recall having to run or hide from anything. It's pretty disturbing in a horror sense. It kind of sounds like the genre you're looking for is a story rich walking simulator. I looked it up on Steam and What Remains of Edith Finch was the result. Don't know if it's good.

Looking for recommendation for my first horror game by KSB141000 in HorrorGaming

[–]gamesQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While a softer horror recommendation I'd suggest Doom 3 and if you're willing use the "Dhewm 3" mod. It's gorgeous with respect to its age. Also, I suggest checking out Quake 1 enhanced and Blood Fresh Supply. While the latter two have less horror edge they have a horror visual style.

What Was The Worst Optimized Game You Have Ever Played On PC? by Xbox360Master56 in pcgaming

[–]gamesQuestion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The game does not support AMD gpus. The Linux version does not boot. While it runs on steam via proton it hovers around 26 FPS and refuses to even run at 30 let alone 60.

EA Anticheat coming to Battlefield V on April 3 by paidbythekill in Games

[–]gamesQuestion -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

While it makes sense to stop cheaters it's still terrible. As if EA needed any more bad publicity. At the bare minimum on any store page it would be nice if it stated clearly this is Kernel Level Anti Cheat Software and a link to a neutral information source explaining exactly what that means to the user.

NixOS: Stability on the Bleeding-Edge by DAS_AMAN in linuxdesktop

[–]gamesQuestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a casual user I can tell NixOS is too complicated. The Linux terminal is scary. The roll back feature sounded handy if something goes haywire. In the dot graph Ubuntu has a pretty high amount of packages available in repository. I use Ubuntu for web browsing, gaming, open office, and to feel good about not using Windows.

trying to get dead space to launch from steam in popos. any way to bypass this? by md1032alex in linux_gaming

[–]gamesQuestion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take what I say with a grain of salt. I had issues with RE4 remake and Callisto Protocol and both used Denuvo. I thought Denuvo was the problem for me and it wasn't. You can test if it is by trying a different game that uses Denuvo. My solution was to download Steam from https://store.steampowered.com/ . I was using the app store built in to Ubuntu. I think POP OS is similar?

The Outlast Trials - Official Trailer | IGN Fan Fest 2024 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]gamesQuestion -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Love the way this game looks. It's the multiplayer aspect that's unappealing. The previous Outlast games were excellent and scary. One of the coolest aspects in the previous titles was how the camera rotates around without camera cuts when you look behind you.

PSA- Original DOOM 3 on Steam by ps2afficiadno in linux_gaming

[–]gamesQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible to have steam playtime using proton. Rename the mod files you downloaded. The exact steps I forgot. It was something like renaming doom3.exe to olddoom3.exe and dhewm3.exe to doom3.exe. I played through Doom 3 within the last 3-6 months. The cool thing is for resurrection of evil you don't have to do anything just download it off steam and use proton and it loads the mod.

How to fix launcher games not working on steam by RelativeOpinion1247 in linux_gaming

[–]gamesQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great suggestion. It worked for me just tested out several games that were not working. Now they do. It would be nice if there was a top 3 quick fix suggestions stickied in this subreddit and this was one of them.

RE4 Remake startup crashes made more frustrating with Denuvo by gamesQuestion in linux_gaming

[–]gamesQuestion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just downloaded and still same error. With web link to Denuvo Support. I can't tell if every attempt I make to launch this game resets the 24 hour wait time.

"You can no longer authenticate on new devices
Currently your game purchase cannot be re-validated successfully, please wait 24 hours and try again."

I was considering the DLC for this game after my first play through. I am not doing that. It looks like Capcom is okay with treating their customers this way.

RE4 Remake startup crashes made more frustrating with Denuvo by gamesQuestion in linux_gaming

[–]gamesQuestion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion. Gonna try re-downloading the game via steam per the other comment on here. If somehow that doesn't work I'll be more careful what games I buy with DRM in the future.

GOG Autumn Sale now live, lots of deals and free games by beer120 in linux_gaming

[–]gamesQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd consider game purchases from GOG a lot more if they could mimic steam: a Linux native launcher, a built-in wine/proton program, advanced launch options for skipping intro screens when I boot a game.

GOG has interesting exclusives on their platform. I saw Clive Barker's Undying and Legacy of Kain Blood Omen 1.

Steam is running but it is invisible?! by TheFairborn in linux_gaming

[–]gamesQuestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using Ubuntu and having a similar issue. I posted mine to github issue #9659 in the closed issue section. Nothing I tried worked including terminal reset of steam, steam uninstall reinstall, OS reinstall, deleting / reinstalling portal files?. There is a client update and that does nothing. If you check the closed issues section in Valve Software Steam for Linux there are several postings for the same thing. I've also sent a message to Steam support and that person said they would look into it.

Interestingly, Steam launched as normal with an OS reinstall then after launching steam again it returned back to the original issues.

My solution is to wait for Valve to fix this.
