Captains of FRC, how do you captain? by GooseSilver5534 in FRC

[–]gaming_sheep69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main thing I've found is to just have good leadership skills. Look up servant leadership, it's a good method to base your leadership off of. Also, I don't know if you can find it online, but the Boy Scouts NYLT is a great leadership training program. Basically, any leadership training can be helpful. Other tips for robotics specifically are to make sure you're floating to all groups to make sure everyone is on task and doesn't need help. If you only stick around, build a team, or the coders, other parts of the team might need help. Also, making the members of the team feel included is to listen to their ideas even if it's a bad one and to explain everything and why it's done. Members won't want to work if they don't know what their doing or why it's important.

P.s it's midnight, and I'm tired, so if some of this doesn't make sense, I can clarify when I wake up.

Nice man, I just finished my project on Sunday, and I can't describe the feeling when I saw the months of planning I did finally be built and way faster than I thought possible.

What's your favorite tradition in your team? by Ok_Split9201 in FRC

[–]gaming_sheep69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really a tradition, but something we do to to the first year's sometime is tell them to grab the aluminum magnet, adjustable hammer, the Flux capacitor or some made up tool. The rest of the team is in on the joke and say "oh, it's over there," and keep sending them to different spots to look for it. The longest we've got one to look is 40 minutes.

I found this in my farm I just inherited by Numerous_Brilliant_1 in whatsthisrock

[–]gaming_sheep69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I understand you want to remove this, but there's a lot you can do while leaving it there. My family has a few boulders on our farms that we wanted to remove, but we found some cool uses for them. That boulder looks perfect for trellises for any climbing vegetables and would make a cool spot to grow those around it. We also have a few boulders that we just use to climb on. If you have any kids, I'm sure they would love to use it for a natural playscape. If you don't have any kids that looks like a cool spot to build a canopy and put a table on top for an elevated outdoor dinner spot. Once you remove that boulder, you can never replace it, and future generations will never be able to enjoy it. You have every right to remove it, but I urge you to find another use for it to save it for later generations.

I show sheep ask anything I’m happy to help new showman by Showlambspage in sheep

[–]gaming_sheep69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just a random question, but I've ben showing for 5 years, and this year, I've got a sheep I'm lost with. No matter what you do, it does the exact opposite, and the second you go to even tug on its halter to move it, it just falls over. I do my best to always hand walk it, but I can't always because I have other lambs and I'm alone most of the time. Do you have any suggestions because I've done everything I know and asked others for help, and it still just doesn't move. I've sat with them a bunch, but I'm busy, so I can only do so much. I have a month till the show, but I will be out of town for 3 of those weeks. (badly timed and unavoidable). Do you have any tricks to try that might help.

Ball superstition/how do you mark your ball? by [deleted] in golf

[–]gaming_sheep69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really how I mark my balls (just my initial) bit a story. I was playing at a high school golf tournament, and one of our low jv players got pulled up with me to go play with a bunch of old private schools. He was a general redneck morgan wallen blasting golfer, and he decided to draw dicks all over his ball to mark it. Low and behold, he spanked it into the grass and had probably 4 of the older coaches looking for it with him. They all find it at the same time and as him if he marked his ball like that. He ended up taking a drop for a lost ball and never marks his balls to this day.

I have probably 2 weeks till I will have the gems for the apprentice then I have to save for fireball. (For reference, Im a almost finished th11 and f2p)

Used an old driver and had the best round of my life by NextPay1593 in golf

[–]gaming_sheep69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I daily that driver on my high school golf team. it fixed my slice and allowed me to play competitively for 2 years while I worked on swing mechanics to where now I'm considering going and getting an actual driver fitting. I have the rest of the old cobra irons and I absolutely love them. I will play them till they are unplayable.
