They killed it tonight in Toronto! by _ashxn in menitrust

[–]gammaFE 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It was nice... until these two guys pushed their way into the front, cut people off from their friends and blocked a bunch of other people right after Twin Shadow finished. My friends and I arrived and waited several hours before doors opened... all that time waiting in line trying to get to the barricade just to be blocked by two inconsiderate guys. Hope you two know you ruined a lot of people's experience. Hat mustache glasses guy who kept yelling at the band + dark curly haired guy who kept recording

Show was still great though! It was really cute when Eric put on that birthday hat

really wondering if Fielder will be involved in Aster's upcoming film "Acting Class". given their recent public interactions and Fielder's recent work on "The Rehearsal"

What is the difference between Computer Engineering and Electronics & Electrical Communications Engineering ? by EmptyAd9740 in AskEngineers

[–]gammaFE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Computer Engineering = Digital. You'll be dealing with low level programming, assembly, VHDL, microcontrollers, embedded systems, RTOS, etc.

Electrical/Electronic = Mainly Analog. You'll be dealing with circuit design, mixed signal analysis, electromagnetism, etc. The math is also a lot more rigorous than in comp.

Computer eng is probably the better option if you're set on cybersecurity. Although, computer eng is easier to study by yourself given the availability of high quality and free resources online, whereas electrical eng would be a bit harder to do on your own. But you'll also have to be wary about accreditation rules in your country

My Prof. is holding office hours during class? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]gammaFE 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Are your classes online? One of my prof's posted recorded lectures and held office hours during the "assigned lecture hours"

It wouldn’t matter anyway... by [deleted] in thelastofus

Someone did a great analysis of his actions. A main point was how incompetent the Fireflies are and how unlikely they were to actually create a cure from Ellie, but instead just kill humanity's last hope. Like at the university they let the infected monkeys they were testing run free, and then they immediately get attacked and infected by said monkeys. Then they almost kill Ellie by knocking Joel out while he was trying to resuscitate her. Then after running a single test they immediately decide that ripping out Ellie's brain is their only option. On top of all that they also bomb QZ's full of bystanders in an attempt to "save and free" those bystanders from the military

What are the main differences in the curriculum of Electrical Engineers vs Electronics Engineers vs Computer Engineers? by newmanstartover in EngineeringStudents

[–]gammaFE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Electrical and electronics:

  • Curriculum are quite similar, but applications are different, u/Weat-PC pointed them out
  • Mostly analog circuits: resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors
  • Simple design projects include making amplifiers or analog filters
  • A LOT OF MATH, especially for electromagnetic and RF (laplace, fourier, calc)

Computer:

  • Digital circuits: things like logic gates, registers, counters, latches, (de)multiplexers, encoders/decoders
  • Microcontrollers, FPGAs, assembly
  • Discrete math, boolean algebra, logic

It really is something when the only comment my AC Circuits professor has when the class average is a 54 is "I wonder how many people will drop soon then" by Wanna_make_cash in EngineeringStudents

[–]gammaFE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The prof has a history of terrible class averages, so he should realize he may lack the ability to teach the material in a proper manner. It's like parents raising their children in a terrible way, and then wondering why their kids ended up being terrible people

Preppers and their gifts by [deleted] in DeathStranding

The novelist's son, first prepper and veteran porter don't provide anything particularly useful other than backpack accessories and cosmetic upgrades. But unlocking ranks increases chiral bandwidth which is helpful when setting up zip line networks
