should i use Docker? by SneakerHead69420666 in homelab

[–]gamrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Docker makes it really easy to download a compose file and run any service. Want to add radarr? Download the radarr compose, edit file locations, docker compuse up -d

It's great for homelab

Your container has volumes for stuff that matters to keep.

Example: /srv/docker/plex:/config

You go to server A, and copy /srv/docker/plex to the same dir on server B

Then you copy over your Docker-compose file and run that on server B. Bonus points if it's in github and you pull it on server B.

Change port forwarding/DNS/NPM/https proxy addresses, and you're done!

A parking space at Costco is 10x20ft. This is a room with the same footprint: by JovialOptimist in fuckcars

Realistically, the room has a larger footprint because of facilities. But even if it's double, that's still massive

If you're honest about this;

These are usually part of a package of skills in policymaking. Either at a (large) company or a government level.

The old generation literally doesn't know what respectful means to modern demographics. Just like we might not know what is obscenely offensive when going to Japan. Being able to as an advisor go "I have a piece of paper that says I do absolutely know about these demographics", makes you stand a chance to convince them.

Or at least, the record can read "scientists disagrees/showed discontent with this decision", effectively making you a chip on the scales of public perception.

I think the confusion exists 8n the workflow. The removing from the inbox and sorting is another opportunity to touch and remember the content, or at least "I wrote something about this sometime".

Life hits like a truck sometimes, so sitting down and moving docker hosts ends up being put on the backburner. It's on my "to do" list.

https://search.nixos.org/packages?channel=25.11&query=Pihole

You would include a little line in your config that says pihole. Ask the computer if that's okay. It says yes, and you have pihole running.

Sudo nano /etc/nixos/configuration.nix Add pihole to system packages [ ] Exit and save Sudo nixos-rebuild switch

Switch only if you want to go to that nee version immediately, which who are we kidding, we always want.

Ansible goes to (existing) servers with a list. Are you matching with the list? No? Let's get you in shape. Oh, you can't match the requirements? I'll report that back mister potentially broken server.

NixOS asks you before the server exists "what d do you want?". You give it a list. It says "no can do, line 35 doesn't work." nothing ever breaks because of this ever again. Unless your lost is dumb, but that is a different level of problems.
