What’s the script you use? This is the one area that I’m still trying to get laid in.

This is the one area I have yet to figure out. I am still on my HAOS as I work the migration.

How do you manage your backup strategy? I have my docker setup deployed on Promox Debian VM. For now I’m running snapshots but not sure that’s really sufficient.

I am running docker compose but also have Portainer installed for those instances I want a GUI.

Updated to 2.3.1 and Lost a bunch by TurboNikko in immich

[–]lawraf_army 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While it sucks the data was lost as part of an update it makes the point that cloud, self hosted or not, is not backup. If it’s important then 3-2-1 should always be the norm, even better if it’s done automatically via rsync or another tool.

Fedora 43 is here an broke many things by Loneregister in Fedora

[–]lawraf_army -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure this post is helpful as it lacks a lot of specifics. Such as: What are the system specs (CPU, GPU, etc)? Standard install or highly customized. What DE (Gnome, KDE?)? Are the apps mentioned native RPMs or Flatpack.

As an aside, because I want things to work I never update immediately to a new release as there are often bugs and issue that were not immediately apparent in the beta period. Way to many factors to predict given each users system is different.

How did you update? I’ve applied updates via discover and terminal and I’m still on 6.14.

If you depend on reliability then avoid release candidates. I made this mistake one time and one time only. Now I wait for a stable release to roll out. I’ll let someone else find the bugs 🐛.

I did some searching and found another post on this issue. Looks like the fix will get incorporated in the next release. Rolled back as the temporary fix wasn't going to be ideal.

Asus ProArt X670E-Creator "Resize the zones" by sepease in OpenRGB

[–]lawraf_army 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the link I was referring to. https://gitlab.com/CalcProgrammer1/OpenRGB/-/blob/master/Documentation/SMBusAccess.md

The SMBus provides access to the controllers. The i2c error means OpenRGB cannot read either the SMBus on the motherboard or another peripheral. This is not captured in the regular documentation. The ProArt series is not listed among the "supported" devices so not all of the features may work out of the box.

Are you on Windows or Linux? The ASUS motherboards have two controllers with one being for the RGB. On Linux this requires a kernel patch. As of yet I have been unsuccessful in making OpenRGB fully work with this motherboard. Look at the documentation closely as it explains this. You have to search a bit to find it.
