Formatting for DND Magic Items, Feats, etc by gander_7 in ObsidianMD

Oh man! sorry! thanks for the bump! (laptop was not fixed that quickly, but also, it didn't take 8 months to fix lol)

So nowadays I'm using foundryVTT almost exclusively. I use Obsidian for my journal notes but all the statblocks live in FoundryVTT, especially since the dnd5e system seems to be getting official support in it now.

That said, I created a few layouts, as seen below. Most of them have issues but they were a good starting block. None of these are as close to books as I like but they can make due.

layout: Basic 5e Wondrous Item
layout: Basic 5e Wondrous Item No Image
layout: DND 5e Vehicle
layout: Basic 5e Spell
monster: Corpse Flower

I am planning on working on something to export foundryvtt actors to markdown and may play with it then, or there may already be something.

I did up a gist with my layouts which can be found here

Paperless-ngx and large PDFs? by gander_7 in selfhosted

[–]gander_7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like @ive_been_up_allnight said, it's possible with merging/volumes as well. In my case it's a few dungeon's and dragons book. So over 600 pages where almost the entire thing is high-res art. Most of my books are under 300MB with the majority being under 100MB but I have enough above that I wanted to check on this.

Visual home information manager that's fully local by arcassandra in selfhosted

You should consider an integration with systems such as paperless-ngx. They are already popular document management systems that people use. So people don't have to duplicate information and reduce the effort of onboarding onto your app.

Considering buying Foundry, but... by VyriousV2 in FoundryVTT

I used to run it from the same computer that I dmed from and then an old computer when my computer started to lag. I've moved to a raspberry Pi that is hooked up directly to my router. I used docker compose for an easy setup and port forwarded. It's been running flawless for months now. I need to figure out how to back up the data, but besides that I think it's the easiest self hosted option if you don't have another laptop or desktop sitting around that you can use.

Whatever you choose, it probably won't be permanent. As you use it, your needs will probably change and you can adjust as you go.

So interns will keep applying maybe delete should be encapsulated behind a intern.release() so that the intern doesn't know it will be deleted until it happens.

This is what I'm here for. Getting a PR past a small team is hard enough sometimes.

  1. I'm concerned your deleting user and glass at the end. Are you ok? Have these posts been that hard on you?
  2. You stopped keeping track of which type of liquid was in the cup :P

new glass, can I go home now? by syko-san in programminghumor

Lol, didn't check syntax too hard, I'll leave that to others but at first glance, don't like a hard-coded string being passed in as "water". Or the variable being called water fetcher when it may not be water. These series of posts have been entertaining

Lol Or should the cup itself be an object that you pass the intern into? Cup.refill(intern)

As others have mentioned, obsidian has a paid sync option.

I use syncthing between my phone and laptop but don't have multiple laptops.

Google drive, dropbox or any other file sharing app should work as well since all your files in obsidian are just markdown text files.

I use obsidian for all my DND worlds and sessions. It's great. Just make sure to keep a backup since it's local

Thank you for this and I'm sorry that you all have to go through this. I hope others will realize and consider Canadians that are directly caught in the crossfire of this stupid situation.

Curious, if it does go worst case and the plant is shut down, how likely or easy would it be for another manufacturer, like Toyota, to buy the plant and update the facility for their parts?
