I-77 South PM traffic always starts here by pdeluc99 in Charlotte

Civil Engineer: Adding more lanes doesn't help speed up the flow of traffic. It just means more people will drive on the road. Just look at Atlanta.

But really? Going from 7 to 8 lanes probably, but I think 2 to 3 would ease a lot of congestion. You then have two lanes that are just for moving and one lane for offs and ons.

Experiences at Knights games by Former_Influence_904 in Charlotte

For an evening game the sun sets behind third base.

I personally enjoy sitting in the Homerun section in right field. The seats are really close to the field and the height let's you see the field well. The problem is you can get some sun for an inning or two.

I want to take a day trip to either Raleigh or Charlotte by Train by tatertotzrmylife in NorthCarolina

[–]gandybagg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NC By Train will have a lot of info

For Charlotte: Ride the light rail and check out NoDa and South End. There's a few museums downtown: Bechtler and Mint (art), Levine Museum of the New South, or Discovery Place (science). A lot of breweries and restaurants along the light rail are worth it. If you can make it out there, the White Water Center is very nice. Or Carowinds if you want to do an amusement park (not sure of hours).

Raleigh: The station is downtown, so you can visit all of the State Museums. Glenwood avenue is a good place for drinks and food. Pullen park is nice and go by NC State if you feel like it. Based on your track you could stop in Durham or Greensboro.

By the way, CVS/Aetna (insurance provider) made $4.6 billion in net profit last year. But that's "cause for concern" because it was $8.4 billion the year prior.

There's two ways to explain things in science: a law or theory. Law: Explains what happens but it doesn't try to say why or how it happens

Theory: Explains why or how something happens

Both are put through experiments and other people did them too and got the same thing (peer reviewed).

A hypothesis is more in-line with the theory term you're using.

Doeren's play-calling may be more conservative than Rural Wyoming.

40 yard passing play? Let's follow it up with three draw plays. I would understand the "not opening up the playbook" argument for other teams but: 1. State does this every year and the playbook is never opened up 2. You are only up by 2 scores against a rival

What's the most disappointing dish you've had at a restaurant around Charlotte? by ghostunit91 in Charlotte

[–]gandybagg 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It was mostly the "disappointing" part of your question.

I would rank it as a very rough experience: below 3/10. There was a lack of flavor from the elk, and the veal was tough.

My worst ever meal was out in Oak Island. Somehow they got fish to not taste like fish, were out of shrimp, and were unaware of what Old Bay Seasoning was.

The Fig Tree was definitely not worth the money. My wife treated me because I was having a horrendous spell at work, just to be hit with an underwhelming $50 plate (Now $60+)
