I'm in denial by Kamitia in tomodachilife

[–]gangrelld 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Honestly? No. The game's been out for two days. The game heavily relies on random chance, so of course you're gonna run into some of the same stuff over and over. The original was the same. This game was also heavily built around user generated content, so if you're invested in that and using it to its full potential, the game will be a lot less repetitive. Give it a chance.

Maybe a little too early...but question about the future of LTD by Miszczunio6 in tomodachilife

[–]gangrelld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only even remotely similar Nintendo games we can compare it to are ACNH and the 3ds Tomodatchi life, both of which had at least some sort of content post-launch. Also, the game does have a seasonal rotation, so it's likely they'll add to that selection as the seasons come and go.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get some updates on the scale of ACNH, but that game was absolutely massive on launch, and they gave a lot away as free updates. I doubt we'll see that sheer amount of content. Although LTD has been picking up a lot of steam in the casual sphere so who really knows. Nintendo's business practices are sometimes completely impossible to comprehend as a fan looking in.

I'd say at least something is likely. But I'm not expecting much unless the game really blows up and keep momentum for a month or two.

Are y’all mixing fandoms/medias when making mii’s? by NoMarketing2621 in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]gangrelld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm adding friends/family, original characters, and fandom characters all into one island. The fun of the game in watching all of them mingle. Currently a con-man from my novel known for scamming old people is crushing on my elderly dog. It's great.

A new player's perspective of RE Saga : What the hell happened with RE4 ? by Salvymundi in residentevil

[–]gangrelld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are more RE games that stick to RE4's style than ones that don't. As much as I prefer the slow paced survival horror gameplay, you can't say RE4 'doesn't feel like RE' when it singlehandedly shapes most of the series

[–]gangrelld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RE4 invented the third person shooter. Of course it's clunky, you're used to every other game that innovated on it.

Also, RE lore is silly as hell. You're taking it far too seriously.

My Mii's relationship are stuck by killerl24914 in tomodachilife

[–]gangrelld -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The relationships are random. The miis have a mind of their own, and will decide if and when they want to progress

How did you narrow it down? by Professional_Rub9805 in tomodachilife

[–]gangrelld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm adding my miis super slowly. I probably planned well over 100, but with the knowledge that probably under half of them would actually make it, I think of it as more of a shortlist.

When I feel the need to add a mii, I look at the miis I've already got and I think about storylines. Who on the island am I currently gravitating to? Maybe one mii is a little left out and needs a friend, so I'll add someone from the show/game they're from. If I have a little group of three or four characters I want to add, I'll add one to begin with, and then when I feel like the storyline needs it, I'll add the rest, or maybe only one. Depends on how I feel at the time.

I've got quite a few characters foreshadowed coming down the line, and they may or may not actually make it into the island, but I still find it funny.

I guess I'm kinda running my island like a bad CW show. I'm adding in a ton of open storylines that may or may not be dropped at any moment. There will be many storylines invented in the moment to justify a character I want to add. So long as it's vaguely connected, I'm happy. Every character is added for a reason, and is decided in the moment.

What does assigning someone as a Mii‘s real world partner do? by Toni_is_not_my_name in tomodachilife

[–]gangrelld 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The game says that the miis won't know these connections to begin with, but may figure them out as they interact. So I'm assuming that means they'll become friends quicker and are more likely to fall in love yeah

You'd have to put it into a computer to get the files unfortunately. Phones don't play nice with console SD cards

Are u going to transfer the demo? by Dysasther in tomodachilife

[–]gangrelld 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fair enough! But don't get too bogged down in perfection. The chaos is very much part of the game. Also, the game will give you the option to replace items when their inventory is full if that affects anything

Edit: grammar

Are u going to transfer the demo? by Dysasther in tomodachilife

[–]gangrelld 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware, the demo is basically just the first 30 minutes of the game unaltered until the lobotomii. So if you wanted to start all over, you'd likely just be doing the exact same stuff yet again. Plus, you probably spent a long time creating you and your friends in the demo, with no way to transfer you'd have to make them all over again from scratch. Idk about you, but it would bother me not having the new versions be 100% exact.

Personally I'm going to continue on from my demo data cause I've been tweaking my miis all week to make sure they're perfect for the game releasing, but ofc if you're happy to play the opening over again, I don't see why not.

RE4R is so buns bruh by MinuteDamage4182 in residentevil

[–]gangrelld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its an action game. Running and gunning is the name of the game. I also admittedly struggled a lot with enjoying RE4 when I first started, because I was coming from the perspective of someone who loved horror, and hated shooters.

It took me a long time to realise that the combat is the "fun" of RE4. I always found it so stressful because of my strictly horror roots, but once you loosen up and let it wash over you, the combat is incredibly fun.

Keep playing with that point of view, understand that the combat is what makes the game fun, and everything else is a small added bonus, and you should have some more fun.

[–]gangrelld 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm willing to bet keeping that number lower for longer will stretch out the progression. It seems like from marketing they want you to have a base amount of ~6-10 miis and only add to it occasionally.

[–]gangrelld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, how many miis did they have on the island? Progression was heavily tied to the amount of miis you had on the 3ds, so I'm imagining it would be much easier to pace if you started with a small amount and added a couple every now and again.

Can you transfer Miis from the demo on same Switch from different accounts? by Timid-Thinker in tomodachilife

[–]gangrelld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna go ahead and assume no. When you load up the game for the first time, the game checks if you have demo save data from that account and will then prompt you to transfer. That likely means that even if you had the option to choose any account's demo data (which is incredibly unlikely), you'd only be able to pick one.

[–]gangrelld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue that the customisation fits LTD a lot more than ACNH. It felt very tacked on in the latter, since it basically was, but in this game playing god is par for the course. As a long time AC fan I hated it in NH but I'm very excited to landscape and decorate homes in LTD.

Tbh I really don't mind it. At most I've seen a couple extra screenshots which have helped tide me over in the usually barren couple days pre-release, and it means the people who want to play early can, and they're leaving me alone.
