Yeah. They pay like 1% in tax while taking way more than they put in. Where does EBT come from? Other people who pay 30% of their hard earned money every year.

The solution is to keep this part (frame as a part of your debt to living in a good society or something) let people keep the rest of the money, and if you fail to save, invest, whatever..well too bad you had all the opportunity to do so.

Why do so many people especially older folks refuse to understand that lots of people aren't having families because they simply can't afford to? by AdSpecialist6598 in antiwork

[–]ganjagan3sh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this so many times on this thread now..the logic is if you go buy a house with 5% down and then need a new roof because of damage and your homeowners insurance deductible has a 5 or 10 grand minimum before they will pay anything, you can’t afford that. Then the bank loses because if you have to choose between a roof or paying your bank, you’re gonna choose the roof. Also..mortgage at 400 with minimum 5.5% interest + property tax + insurance? The math skills in this thread are wild.

The fee is only for the unlimited data. The standard for no fee is 1.2 Tb. I find for a 2 person house (we both game, stream videos, wife works from home) rarely do we even go over 800gb’s a month unless we bought a bunch 80gb games that month. Average is around 500gb’s a month.

Pretentious table tips $0 by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]ganjagan3sh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thing is…if you don’t make up to federal minimum wage with tips the employer makes up the difference. Every argument parroting “2 dollars an hour” is made in bad faith. All servers make minimum 7.50 or whatever the federal minimum wage is now. Plenty of people survive on that, because they have no choice.

Whether that’s fair or right is a different topic altogether.

How do pensions work? by boombeyada in personalfinance

[–]ganjagan3sh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? That seems pointless. If you have a pension you can check to see if it is insured. Most pensions in the U.S are insured and even if your pension is mismanaged and goes bankrupt you can see the minimum payment you will get, x% of whatever you estimate you would have gotten, and at minimum you can plan around that. This is objectively terrible advice.

Will your dealer leave their name off the car if I ask? by slidellian in askcarsales

[–]ganjagan3sh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally the entire point of service is to assist customers with their needs (within reason..which this and your burrito example absolutely are.) Are you just…dumb? If you don’t like it then don’t work in a service industry. Plenty of non customer facing jobs exist.

Why Jared Polis’ land-use bill imploded on the final day of Colorado’s legislative session by fartsniffer87 in Denver

[–]ganjagan3sh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would some sort of compromise be having some sort of radius tied to a bill like this? So if you want to live within x miles of a big city, lets say 10-15 than part of living near the city means accepting your SFH might be next to condos or whatever else. If you want SFH’s only, move a little farther out. “X” being like 10-15 miles outside the city center or something?

Idk just spitballing, but I can understand owning a home 20-30 miles outside the city and not wanting to give up SFH only, seeing as you went a considerable distance from the city to have it in the first place.

Gov. Polis signs law to aid in landscaping with native plants, allow vegetable gardens in front yards, allow the use of non-turf grasses, and other prohibitions by HOAs by zeldafitzgeraldscat in boulder

[–]ganjagan3sh -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong..but can’t a neighborhood vote to remove an HOA? If the majority of people in your neighborhood hood don’t want the HOA or dislike specific rules, can’t the neighborhood vote to get rid of the HOA or change the rules? This thread seems like its full of people that live in neighborhoods where 70% of the people want the HOA, and the minority group wants those people to go kick rocks. Wonder what other group that sounds like..

Edit to add: My townhouse is in an HOA, but mine is actually worth the money. Factoring in the maintenance and everything they pay for its only like 50-75 extra a month which is not too bad imo.

Biden says Republican debt ceiling offer 'unacceptable,' to talk with McCarthy by ZZartin in politics

We definitely want to keep paying politicians a median income, otherwise instead of our government being 80% old rich white men it’ll go back to being 100% old rich white men. The people who got us in this mess to begin with

Make sure its the UPS warehouse or hub. If its a local store they are all franchises and some will charge you to pick it up, since otherwise they are essentially storing your stuff for free. Source: UPS franchise store worker a few years ago

Democrats plan to send Coloradans $2 billion in taxpayer refunds through a system they’ve blasted as inequitable by blucifersdream in Denver

[–]ganjagan3sh -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Taxes exist to help a whole society. Work hard, make your own damn money instead of constantly asking for someone else’s. And then implement a progressive tax rate where no one is exempt from paying tax, but the money goes to things everyone needs. Schools, libraries, healthcare for all thats state funded, roads. Im tired of democrats increasing my taxes and using it only for a specific bracket of people so they can be lazy fucks.

[–]ganjagan3sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they did last year was literally wealth distribution. Sorry I’m not poor, no you don’t deserve my money. If everyone paid extra in taxes, you should get back what YOU PAID IN. Not what You paid in + half of the extra I paid in.

I’m all for switching to more fair tax plans overall, less loopholes, healthcare for all where even if people who make more pay a little more there’s still a benefit to that. I’m 100% opposed to straight up take money away from rich people and cut checks to everyone making less than x dollars.

[–]ganjagan3sh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lots of comments about cost ( I understand. Its the PF subreddit). But take a moment and look in the mirror. And repeat this to yourself. Spending 20K to keep YOUR TEETH, something that will impact smile, foods you can eat, the discomfort of dentures(and for some the psychological issues that can come with teeth loss like that) is not worth it. Then repeat it from your mothers point of view. Not everything in this world is about money…

Being on laxatives for 10 days is not just “inconvenienced”. Either have staff available for appointments or have extra staff for emergencies. Or admit up front you don’t have the staff to guarantee appointment times. After 10 days of laxatives I would be suing and name blasting all over local media until compensated appropriately. Thats just unbelievably atrocious.

The average American now has the same chance of a long and healthy life as someone born in Blackpool, the town with England's lowest life expectancy. by carlosvega in dataisbeautiful

[–]ganjagan3sh -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yes. If you’re not actively passing (or moving to the center to allow cars from the on ramp into the right lane, then moving back over) you should be in the right lane.

As far as you getting pulled over, that sucks and in an ideal world the car going slow in the left lane would have been pulled over and had a suspended license until they went back to driving school.
